This idea is inspired somewhat by 'Fight Club'. I feel modern man has been somewhat overpacified by modern society, we have a natural impulse to fight, conquer, and of course this is given no unregulated outlet in today's civilisation. In a Boxing match, you can only use your hands - our cavemen ancestors would wrestle on the rocks. Join a wrestling club, no punching. I say most men, especially those of us over 30 who have never been violent, never beaten up another kid in school, NEED to experience raw, naked barbarism at some point. I think we need to go back to that, to understand ourselves more wholly. Personally, I wouldn't start some shit with a guy in a bar, but a part of me would be tempted to finish it. On the other hand, I'm also aware that violence is viral, ie it begets more violence. Hence the 'over 30' only part. I can well imagine a teenager 18y.o guy, already drowning in Testosterone at that age, becoming hooked. There's a poll...if no option fits perfectly, choose the nearest.
once a man becomes a certain age, physical confrontation is only necessary in extreme situations...and many times its life and death, at least where im from, you have to defend yourself or get run over... but its young man's game and should be left in the past if possible. but i couldn't count the number of fights i was involved in through out jr high and high school...like i said those days are and should be long gone.
I have never been able to stomach violence of any kind, be that physical or verbal...it leads to more violence.
I'm not an advocate of violence but I think everyone should be able to defend themselves, women included! Who wants to have there arses kicked and do nothing about it?
Nah that's just there because Muppets are funny. But! if someone smacks me one it's pretty much guaranteed there getting one back untill I finish it.
agreed. i've taken self-defence lessons & i love boxing. i would defend myself and my children if it came to it...i just don't agree with violence to solve issues and i don't agree with fighting for the fun of it
I've been known to talk my way out of fights as a kid. Today, people assume i'm gonna beat your ass cause i'm bigger than they are. I you hurt those I love... i'm coming after you.
Co-Sign that, no fun in it at all, I've had to defend myself a couple off times in nasty situations and it wasn't somthing I set out for. Same for me with the Kids as well, I hope no one ever threatens them, I'm not being dramatic but I wouldn't care about consequences if someone laid a hand on my children.
I bullied kids on the play ground, I beat down kids as teen/tweeny bopper, & I'm gonna beat yo ass with my cane as a senior citizen!!!! lol.:smt026:smt021:axe::smt043:smt096
At some point, all men need to lay fist to face. In spite of the "turn the other cheek" pronouncement, even Jesus didn't withhold a beat down when warranted (Mar 11:15-19, Matthew 21:12-17).
I agree with Francie. To defend yourself, or those who matter to you, it may be necessary to engage in fighting. Simply going around looking to start a fight with someone to experience 'naked barbarism' is neither necessary, nor advisable. You'd be surprised how many people will shock the hell out of you in a fight. People may seem small and meek, but you lay hands on them and they will beat you like a rented mule! My personal rule is you don't touch me, I won't touch you.
Well, there I have to agree, was round my nephew's place last night and he loves the show, I pretty much hadn't watched it since I was a nipper myself, but I was amazed how many sly references they make about to adult life to keep their larger viewers giggling along with the munchkins. Kudos to 'em. Or until he (or possibly she) finishes it.
You really think your clever don't you? that I cannot see the insult in that sentence? I tell you something, although I've never been an instigator of violence, in your case I would definitely make an exception! I'm currently leg pressing 135 kg i think that's more than enough power to kick your scrawny arse.
