Heart vs Intellect

Intellect for myself but I think its important to note that I look for heart above intellect in a woman. When I say heart I don't mean in the sense that you are using it as in basically thinks with emotions, i mean heart as in a loving/nuturing spirit and demeanor.

Intellect is fairly important but not extremely high on my list-- I can guide her in the right direction.

 

You are absolutly right. A few weeks ago, a person told me "what is breakfast without jam ?".

 

Very true. Which is the very reason I "used" to think with my heart.

 

I actually disagree with Equinox. There are no bad roads, only more difficult ones. But still each journey has value and life is all about the journey.

A friend of a friend followed her heart recently. She HAD to have a man that didin't want her anymore. He left her for a new woman. Words were exchanged between the two women regarding this one man.

The short of it is...one woman is dead and one woman is doing fifty...yes 50 years in jail.

A journey can have value....but at what costs...but that's just my opinion...I could be wrong.


I do understand that the case above is an extreme case...but I'm just sharing someone's journey of the heart.

Sad, but true...

 

I was talking to a dear friend about this the other day. We were debating whether to think or feel about these things. I have a tendency to over-think, but it is exhausting and can potentially be a pointless exercise. But to feel without thinking can also lead to certain unwanted ends.

I think it's too easy to separate the two and necessitate them to be mutually exclusive. There needs to be both. Love is about heart, after all...you must have that feeling to love someone and no amount of thinking can make that happen or necessarily take it away. But, there are also facts which must be taken into account.

So, my answer to this question is "both", to differing degrees in different situations. The trick is to remain honest with ourselves about it, to enable the best decisions to be made, and to know what we want. Perhaps, sometimes, it's mostly heart and, even though we know we will crash and burn, we must follow it anyway. Other times, it's more logic.

There is no absolute answer to this question.

 

This is really very sad... but also very extreme..and far away of a normal social frame..
Would I hold the same extreme sample against, following intellect, it would be a killer, you can hire.

I am talking about normal decisions of normal people.
