In this country white women have the primary benefits of affirmative action. And In 2017 35% of Employed Black women have jobs in management, business, science, and arts occupations (up from 33% in 2011) compared to 24% of employed Black men in those fields. The equal pay gap starts at the priorities of who's at the top. Hint it ain't us. In a world of capitalism there is always going to be some group pushed to the bottom.
I think part of what factors in too is that when we are young and idealistic, we will often choose jobs/careers that are more helpful and may pay much lower. The reality of it all doesn't hit until later on down the road. Now we have a generation that was raised to "do what you love" yet they expect to make tons of money and often the 2 are not aligned.
My mother worked in IT at a large cap company and she didn't really care for it. She went to school for history and social sciences, but the job payed great. She was the envy of most. Kinda funny because she doesn't take much interest in technology to this day. I went deeper into technology because I have the interest in it. She didn't really need to. Most jobs don't require you to go deep, they just require you to be good at what's written in the job description. Being naturally intelligent she was of course good at it.
Preach on! I feel bad for men in nursing, but it was a choice. Lol Edit: on second thought they should get paid more if they do more work *Runs and hides....lol*
Yes. I mean there are other actresses like Kate Winslet, Charlize Theron, Riley Keough, Ruth Wilson and upcoming actresses that would LOVE their break. Nobody is forcing them but when you say something like that they look at you like your the bad guy. I noticed that, when you say "Nobody is forcing you" they get offended. But here's the thing... it's true. The only thing I think that should happen is that they shouldn't do these kind of scenes without getting to know their co-star. They should film better build up scenes to the sex scene to allow chemistry and a storyline to it to be established. Even in sports when a new athlete joins a team they have to practice first. lol. If you need a coordinator to FAKE something as natural as sex then you have other issues because that's forcing yourself to do something you are obviously uncomfortable with.
When I was young I wanted to do things that were more social related, or medical but patient care/PT (that didn't pay well at the time). My parents tried to push me in other directions that made more money. I was offered a good job managing a business making more than I was going to make with the degrees I was looking at. I left and took the job, which turned into managing more businesses, etc. I hated the work, but made much more than I would have in the areas I really liked. I was really good at it and I was always the type to go way beyond the job descriptions which lead to many more opportunities. In my early 40's, I went back to school and earned those degrees in areas I wanted. However, it's still an ongoing debate for me....might always be. In order to make decent money, it requires being self-employed which also has negatives.
All joking aside....men in nursing often get a very raw deal. Women like to talk about all the shit men do and say in male dominated areas, I think it's even worse for men in women dominated fields. We really do need men in those areas too. I don't work in nursing, but I sure have had many times when I've needed male nurses to help with my clients and there are definitely times in human services when it's helpful to have a man take particular cases.
Definitely. I remember when I first started working office jobs doing accounting and internal audit. I was expected to help women obtain things they couldn't reach. I had to even help IT departments that was ran by women to move computers around because I was the new guy. I remember thinking wtf? Lolol. Today I more than happy to only use my accounting knowledge for investing. That's wasn't the reason for the transition tho.
Fellow bean counter now that's what's up. I've often wanted to start a firm but its crazy saturated in NY
I love when people complain about not being valued or getting the money they think they deserve. Its called work and not play for a reason. Almost no one is actually happy at their job most of the time. Its modern day slavery. Do a task or starve and be homeless. But as adults we understand that and do what's necessary.
Aptitude but not interested. Man, that's really the dilemma of LIFE. For those who are working in jobs they love, God bless you.lol
At some point I want to put together a network of information sharing for guys like me, you, and MKM. No structure just simply breaking the idiotic trend of bm competing with each other and instead capitalizing on our financial knowledge. When I get back heavy into the markets I just need to invest in a good server and write some code then we're good to go. You contribute what you want when you want on your free time.
So y'all see this story from Yesterday? Over a year later, that POS Fake Feminist Lena Dunham finally apologized to Actor Harold Perrineau's Daughter Aurora Perrineau for caping for her rapist last year: https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entr...inst-girls-writer_us_5c07eec6e4b0a6e4ebdacf45
Yeah I seen it earlier. Lena is a POS but she did what other feminist have done when it was someone close to them being accused. This is where their hypocrisy comes in.
Co-sign, I kinda came to that conclusion within the last year. I could totally live with and have a piece of mind settling down & having a kids with a non-racist conservative woman.
The only thing that I didn't like about them in the past was their views on economics. That's such a non issue now lol. Most people don't understand how it works anyway. If they can tolerate me being a heathen, I can tolerate their economic views. I see nothing but win. 80/20 rule. That extra 20 just ain't what you want lol
Go for it m8t. If she isn’t spouting right wing and alt right crap, you are probably on the right track.
