Of the 50 accusers that appeared on the NYT mag cover, most of them IMO weren't technically raped. It's just hard to believe 50 women over 30 years woke up one day realizing Bill Cosby raped them and nothing was done. I would have a hard time believing the same thing for an equivalent White male celeb. Yeah I do believe Cosby raped women, but dozens of them??
Yep. Absolutely. I was going to mention that..that when men are raped...they definitely don't report it. They're told it's bullshit, c'mon men cant be raped. Or they're told to man up. Or they're viewed as gay if their rapist is a man, or if a gay man is raped, then it's not really rape. It's why l posed the question to TDK earlier...would he go to the police? He didnt answer.
Seriously Bliss? This is your response to the MULTIPLE women accusing Trump of sexual assault? You try to put them and their claims in the same boat as Larry Sinclair, a CONVICTED FELON specializing in crimes of deceit (see below)? That's some serious BS Bliss, and shows in the most GLARING way possible your hypocrisy on this issue, as well as your willingness to entertain any conspiracy theory, no matter how outlandish and sick, as long as it smears Obama and Clinton. You have no doubt when it comes to the women accusing Cosby, with both rape and sexual assault, but when it comes to Trump, you are willing to dismiss any and all claims from women. And by the way, I was not deflecting the thread, I was answering the question you raised about "how many more are there out there", even though you find the accuser incredulous, Trump has been accused of rape of a child, and attempted rape https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...xual-assault-allegations-jill-harth-interview. http://www.politico.com/story/2008/06/obama-accuser-has-long-rap-sheet-011164 Public records and court filings reveal that he has a 27-year criminal record, with a specialty in crimes involving deceit. The record includes forgery charges in two states, one of which drew Sinclair a 16-year jail sentence. The Pueblo County, Colo., Sheriff's Office also has an outstanding warrant for Sinclair's arrest for forging an acquaintance's signature and stealing her tax refunds. Here is what the SPLC said about this nonsense. https://www.splcenter.org/hatewatch/2011/12/12/down-low-president
The first Lady sued an established media outlet, The Daily Mail, over in the UK. Sinclair is a felon, a convicted crackpot, from a legal standpoint, there is not much if anything to be gained by shutting this book down, as no credible sources would take him seriously. President Obama withstood any number of outrageous and vile lies during his 8 years, from birtherism, to claims he was a one man Islamic sleeper cell, to claims he targeted U.S. citizens for murder. You did not see him sue anyone on those claims either.
Jezebel.com markets itself as Celebrity/Sex/Fashion blog for Women (Owned by Gawker/Univision). But I've always seen Black Liberals label Jezebel as a White Feminist media outlet.
I didn't see that but you bet your sweet ass I would. Someone is either going to jail or to the morgue over that
Now more than ever you see how amazing a president that man was. He brought honor and integrity to the office. No better president in my lifetime by a mile.
If some dude tries to rape me he is going to get something that doesn't even happen in the western world anymore, a real fight. In going 300 B.C. on his ass.
I have a question that's been bothering the fuck out of me! When people accuses someone of rape, how are others supposed to go about uncovering the truth. I know sexually abused survivors get highly upset over other people not believing them but what are we supposed to do especially when it comes upstanding individuals who never displayed such depraved acts or tendencies. I have kids just like you, hypothetical speaking say one of our grandkids accuses our children (the parents) of sexual abusing. We raise our kids to be upstanding, classy, humble, selfless, wise individuals from day 1 clearly outlining right from wrong with our children never displaying abnormal tendencies for the past so many years then someone drops a bomb shell accusation like that. How the hell am I supposed to believe it or even convince myself that my child is capable of such wickedness? What do you do in such a situation. How do you uncover the truth?
I have no idea! I think that would definitely be a nightmare. How about when you are with someone/marry one who is accused by something by your child? Or there is a situation where one of your children accuses the other? When it comes to others, even those supposedly upstanding citizens, there is usually some sort of a knowing that has gone on. My step monster was/is a so called upstanding citizens to the point where others basically worshipped him. He was extremely intelligent and a master manipulator. He did abusive things right in front of other people. I told people things he did and they even believed me and had this knowing of things....because clearly I was not the only one. There were all sorts of things that were "off" about him. Maybe some thought he was eccentric or such. I think partly because he was so bright and could talk circles around anyone and was the way he was, people were afraid to challenge him. The timing of it all and how our society was played into it as well. He was this short thin man and yet those much bigger with much more power seemed to be afraid of him. There does seem to be a common thread where things come out and others say - oh yes he was really creepy or he said inappropriate things or did things that weren't ok. Part of the problem seems to be that they will often divide people and isolate them and all the mental stuff that they do to make their victims feel crazy. Quite frankly, if you take a good hard look at many of the people who have been in high positions of power, they were often abusive in some way. I think we often have a "sense" of sorts about such people, but we dismiss or discount that. It's a really tough thing, we don't want to believe someone is capable of such things...even when it's staring us in the face. Honestly, sometimes I think the whole believe any/everyone thing is overboard too. I've known situations where I KNEW absolutely nothing happened and yet there was someone catching a charge.
Sexual behavior and proclivities are so individual and many times have nothing to do with how you were raised. Jeffrey Dahmer wasn't 'raised' to be a sexual deviant. Neither was John Gacy. Many times what drives us sexually comes from something deep inside up individually, and it has nothing at all to do with our parents. You never know what imprints on people at a young age and forms who they are sexually as adults. IMO Bill Cosby found out in the 1950s and '60s that some men would slip chicks a mickey to have sex with them, and something in his head just clicked. For instance, when I was in college roofies were becoming popular as a date rape drug, but I and most dudes weren't like, how can I get my hands on that shit??? There's so many variables that turn a person into a sexual predator and not all of it comes from sexual abuse as a child. Think about former NFL safety Darren Sharper who had model good looks and still got off on drugging and having sex with unconscious women. IMO that's something that's was off in his own brain. No one can raise you to be that way.
Really good points! I think as parents we often feel responsible for our children (even adult children). Society often blames the parents as well. Most people who were abused never abuse anyone. There are plenty of abusers who were never abused. It's really amazing how little we know about the brain.
I can understand to a certain extent. As we're protective over our children... Just as much they also don't want to have to think of their child committing such a horrible crime. That's a huge thing I admire about my parents. They were always supportive of us, but right is right, and wrong was wrong. If we stepped out of line in any way... we'd have to face the consequences. Sure thye'd be hurt, disappointed and so on, but they weren't going to blindly say something like... "no way it was my child"
Ten of the 12 jurors in Billy Cosby's sex assault trial thought he was GUILTY but couldn't persuade the others - as one juror tells how some in the group cried and punched walls during heated deliberations Ten of the 12 jurors thought Bill Cosby was guilty of sexually assaulting Andrea Constand on two of the three counts he was charged with They were convinced by the prosecution that he digitally penetrated her and slipped her drugs without her knowing but two thought he was innocent Only one of the 12 jurors thought Constand was unconscious or unaware of what was happening to her when he allegedly sexually assaulted her in 2004 The jurors were kept in a small room where they grew so frustrated they cried and punched walls, one revealed on Wednesday After days of heated deliberations, they could not break deadlock and a mistrial was declared Earlier this week, one of the four alternate jurors said he would have voted to convict if he had been drafted in Cosby, who was confident he would escape conviction, remains on $1million bail Of the 12 jurors at Bill Cosby's sexual assault trial, only two thought the star was innocent but refused to listen to persuading arguments, it has been revealed. In an interview with ABC, one of the jurors - who chose to remain anonymous - told how discussions at the highly publicized trial grew so tense, some in the group punched walls and cried as they tried hopelessly to reach a verdict ten in the jury were convinced he was guilty of digitally penetrating Constand without her consent, the first charge. Of the second count - that Constand was unconscious or unaware of what was happening to her after being given drugs by the comedian - 11 jurors thought he was innocent and only one thought he was guilty. The third count suggested that Cosby gave Constand the drugs without her knowledge by slipping them to her somehow. Again, ten jurors thought he was guilty of it but two, who 'wouldn't budge, would not move', did not. ...despite widespread accusations from other women who claimed to have been assaulted by Cosby in the public sphere, nothing except from the contents of the trial was discussed. 'We never brought anything outside in. Never. Not once. If somebody would mention something, we would cut them off,' the juror said. .... Sheriff's deputies had to be posted outside and broke in several times, worried the group had begun fighting, they said, adding that one male juror punched a concrete wall because he was so irate. 'I think he broke his pinky knuckle. If we kept going, there was definitely going to be a fight. 'They had five sheriff’s deputies at the door and they could hear us and they kept coming in because they thought we were already fighting,' they said. The twelve jurors were initially placed in a larger room but had to be moved when a judge was told that journalists could see in through a window. The second room was so small that it drove them 'crazy'. 'People couldn't even pace. They were just literally walking in circles where they were standing because they were losing their minds. 'People would just start crying out of nowhere, we wouldn’t even be talking about [the case] -- and people would just start crying.' According to some who spoke to Page Six after the mistrial was declared, Cosby made light of the trial by referring to the courtroom as his 'stage' and said the room where he was being kept to wait during breaks was his 'dressing room'.
I think it's beyond that. We are taught to respect adults and grow up wanting to believe in fairytales and that no one could be so evil. Most often the predator is someone close to us, someone we are expected to trust. People are taught to go against their own instincts and not trust themselves throughout life.
