That is so funny. A friend of mine was telling me about this show. He can't keep this up if the show has to follow the usual tropes.

Anyone watch the leftovers? I didn't think I'd like it but I really do

 

What's the show about? :-|

 

I had seen a program called The Death Of Superman Lives;What Happened. It was the story about the attempt to make a 90's Superman film. Everything from the costume and production design was discussed. Tim Burton was going to direct and Nicolas Cage was going to play Superman. When I heard about the project during that time, I thought Cage had the right physicality to play Superman. It would have Lex Luthor and Brainiac. It would have been a good movie if Warner Brothers hadn't backed out because they were afraid to take the chance. And they were afraid of Tim Burton's vision. This man made a billion franchise with the Batman films and the studio was afraid of Tim Burton. Jon Peters was executive producer on the project. Kevin Smith wrote the story but was later fired from it. Michael Anthony Jackson designed Brainiac's ship but left to work on The Matrix. In Superman Lives' place was Wild, Wild West and other films that Warner Brothers released that had been made for big bucks but didn't make it. I recommend it.

 

I've followed it from the beginning and I am deeply enthralled by it. It's a great story and given that the writer of the book is involved in it, it seems to be progressing in a way that is well worth watching for another few seasons. The only gripe with the second season is the changing of the opening theme. Though, I understand the message behind it, it doesn't resonate strongly compared to the first season's opening.

It's based on the book of the same name. Basically, two percent of the world's population disappears without a trace, nor explanation under this event called The Sudden Departure. It follows a town of people who have lost loved ones, all the while dealing with cults like the Guilty Remnant, as well as some personal issues with the central characters. The story isn't about trying to figure what caused the event. Rather, it's more about how the people who were "leftover" were not taken and how they are coping with the loss of loved ones, as well as dealing with internal conflicts.

I watched the documentary yesterday. I think the biggest issue was the budget proposed to make this movie work. From the documentary, it was estimated to have a cost of $300 million in order to get the movie made, and that is not including marketing and promotional bits. The ideas used and the overall movie pitch, they would have basically borrowed the events of Death of Superman and a little homage to All-Star Superman towards the end of the movie, after he managed to beat Doomsday before he succumbed to his wounds.

It was worth watching and would have loved to see Tim Burton's take on Superman. I love his movies.

 

Even in the 90's, the casting of a black actor to play Jimmy Olsen was also considered. Chris Rock. He would have been a hilarious Jimmy Olsen.

 

I'm intrigued. I'm going to check it out.

Call of Duty is taking one step forward and two steps back.
I go to play the new Call Of Duty, and I notice for the first time ever, the game lets you play as a female protagonist.

In fact, not only can you choose your gender, you can give your character any face you want..........as long as that face is white.

Back in the 90's, I think Evander Holyfield had a video game. You could play either Holyfield or other contenders. You could even create a contender. They could be black, white and Latino.
