You can take a break from watching the news at anytime there is a 99.9% chance that they are not talking about anything that's going to affect you that you are not already dealing with on any given day.

There is one right behind him in the picture... though l'm guessing once the others see this on the news, they won't be happy.

Hopefully also, in general, some will be moved after seeing the cop's compassionate act and not see him as some asshole pig, as they are so often referred to as.

I was surprised myself. Difficult to understand why they can ever support that flag.

There are about as many "Rednecks for Obama" as there are "black rebels."

I never implied that whatsoever, nor even thought about it like that. I'm just pointing that this minority group of people voted for this president, despite the fact that they exercise "southern pride." Goes to show you that there are those black sheeps in all kinds of labels and expectations.

Fascinating. This is why this country is by far the epicenter of the most strong-headed people, and dynamic politics, in the world..l swear, one is constantly surprised. "Only in America" truism was never more appropriate, lol.

I'm fucked up in the head, so it would take a lot for me to be surprised.

I wasn't surprised either. I'm actually surprised his reception has been as mild as it has. I expected armed insurrection by now. To be honest, I never expected him to get elected in the first place.

Part of me thought there would be some assassination attempts on his life.

Update on the Cop and viral pic...he responds to the mass coverage

Here with Gov Haley In 2013

    Leroy Smith's statement:

"I have been somewhat surprised by how this photo has taken off and gone viral around the world.

'Even though I serve as the director of this agency, I consider myself like every other officer who was out there braving the heat on Saturday
    to preserve and protect.

'The photo that was captured just happened to be of me.

'Our men and women in uniform are on the front lines every day helping people – regardless of the person’s skin color, nationality or beliefs.

'As law enforcement officers, service is at the heart of what we do.

'I believe this photo captures who we are in South Carolina and represents what law enforcement is all about.

'I am proud to serve this great State, and I hope this photo will be a catalyst for people to work to overcome some of the hatred and violence
we have seen in our country in recent weeks.'

There have been more threats than against any other president in history, but I think the Secret Service is taking them all seriously, because they do not want him getting hurt on their watch. I'm as surprised as you are.
