I think you were correct earlier. There were a lot going on in the wild 60s and 70s that may not be deemed rape, but somehow, it looks like he progressed from there tho. I honestly don't believe the Dickinson case, for many reasons. I might be wrong.
But there are many others that were not taking pills. Knowingly.

Or he may have kept doing the same thing and the only thing that changed was the definition not the behavior.
The staple of the 60s and 70s was getting fucked up on drugs and hooking up.

Oh yeahhh babyy... Because a mickey snuck In your drink back in the 60's & 70's is not the same as a mickey snuck in your drink In 2015. Got it.

If you're having sex with an unconscious woman, that's hard to spin as 'partying hard'.

But those women who distinctly remember Cosby having sex with them after he gave them pills, that's different.

That theory actually makes a lot of sense to me. Maybe it was a lifestyle that he couldn't give up. It makes you wonder how many other women out there who were victims haven't even come forward yet?

Who distinctly remembers and was awake through the entire rape?
I recall the just before and after recollections, but not entire rape..( hope you're not referring to when he shoved his penis in one woman's mouth in the green room)

What went on in the "wild 60's/70' pales in comparison to what goes on today. But no one makes excuses for rapes today. If anything, attempts have been made to excuse rape today because of the wild promiscuity of young teens, teens and young adults today, but we aren't buying it. So why buy it for "back then".

Especially because Quaaludes depressed the central nervous system, often to the point of comatose, so l would think a woman willingly taking it wouldn't take it to then have sex. So many other drugs existed for that.

Funny too, how it was just the women...never Bill taking them, because he'd be knocked out too. Bill is one short of a necrophiliac, he got off on a knocked out, powerless lifeless woman he could do whatever he wanted to sexually. He was so smart, he knew these women could never tap him for his rapes, that's why the couple of women who woke midway or at end said Bill stoped and left the room.

I agree we shouldn't make wholesale excuses for people's bad behavior, but the 1970s in this country was completely upside down morally and culturally compared to today.

I'll give you an example of a movie I watched on TCM a couple weeks ago.
It was called Night Moves and came out in 1975. It starred Gene Hackman as a private dick in LA who's paid to find an actress's daughter who's skipped out with one of her BFs. There are multiple plot lines and a murder conspiracy, blah, blah, blah, but what REALLY stood out to me that you'll NEVER see in a movie today the character played by 18 year old Melanie Griffith.

In the movie she's the daughter that Gene Hackman is sent to locate, except her character is SIXTEEN, she's described as highly promiscuous and in this flick she doesn't fuck anyone under the age of 26.

Melanie's character runs off to her stepdad's house in Key West and it's intimated he doesn't want her around because she might try to sleep with him!!

In fact there's a scene where she almost unintentionally seduces Gene Hackman but he thinks better of it.

You will never see a movie today where a sixteen year old is overtly sexualized in a world of adults.
But this was the '70s and movie studios thought it was okay to portray teens as sex objects for adult men.

Pretty Baby(1978 ) starring a 12 year old Brooke Shields is basically kiddie porn. Shields is nude in the movie and has sex as the daughter of a prostitute working in a brothel in New Orleans.

Taxi Driver(1976) had a 15 year old Jodie Foster playing a teen prostitute.

The point behind all of this is to say that socially and culturally, the 1960s and '70s were not recognizable to most of us today.

Swinger/key parties were a huge thing back then, and so were the drugs.

That's why initially when I heard some of these accusations were from almost 40 years ago, and it involved parties, pills and sex, it's tricky for me to put rape in that cultural framework.

I've never gone to a party where a random orgy broke out.
This was far from unusual in the 1960s/'70s, from what I've read.

I think sometimes people forget how unlimited and radical the sexual revolution was back then.

Heck. I can guess. During the 80's aids was just popping off and people got sexually conservative. Im sure gay acceptance wouldve been sooner if it wasnt for aids.

But how it really was i cant say cause teens just really didnt get it.

Another good point especially about homosextuals.

It's a bad blow for liberty with absolutely no evidence. It's not like R.Kelly where there was video.

I hope you are joking. They released records showing that he does use drugs. Most of his public supporters have turned on him.

I don't want to get into the racial issue. I agree that black people are under more pressure but this guy went out of his way to trash black people with his pound cake speech. It is bad enough I see O'reily doing it but when you got a guy like this doing it to the black community. You lose my respect. You as in Cosby and not TDK

I sympathize with your cause TDK but it is that same sympathy of black people being placed in a harsher light that antagonized me against Cosby.

What blow to liberty? The man Is walking free.
Never arrested, even though a rape claim was reported back then (before rape-kits existed) Police Took him in for questioning, but released him because they said it was he said, she said..
So he's never gone to trial. And never been convicted. The only people who had their liberty blown were out cold while he pleasures himself.
