I don't know who Keith David is, but I'm excited to get deeper into the background of this character.

It probably is the same one. Enjoy the show. Anything made in the 90s or early 2000s is normally somewhere on youtube.

He did the off screen voice for the U.S. Navy. "Navy. Accelerate your life." And he took over for the late Paul Winfield on the true crime show City Confidential. He did cartoons and was in many film's like There's Something About Mary and Pitch Black.

The great Keith David, veteran of Platoon, Men At Work, Dead Presidents, Pitch Black, Chronicles of Riddick and many, many more. A great actor.

And just to make things confusing, there was another actor making movies at the same time named David Keith.

If somebody told you David Keith was in a movie it wasn't unusual for somebody to ask, "do you mean David Keith or Keith David? I think the black guy is Keith David right?"

It happened more back in the day. In the pre-internet/smart phone era there was no way to quickly look up shit like this.

Watching the animated series years ago on HBO, it was something different and new to me. And, very deep and enthralling. Of course, a reboot of the movie would have to be divided into two or three parts, since the last time we were treated to Spawn's story, it (along with the comics at that point) stopped where Spawn managed to spend some quality time with Wanda, disguised as Terry (the current husband, and his best friend) and the result caused her to be pregnant with two children, whom....

    ...I guess I shan't say anymore.

The new Fantastic Four movie is currently sitting at 10% on Rotten Tomatoes.

    Ouch.

I saw Ant-Man last weekend, and I wasn't too impressed. I'm surprise it's rated so high by critics and audiences.

I found it a tad boring and really, it didn't seem to cover new ground at all.

Maybe the next movie will be more exciting.

Ant - Man has been the best (Marvel Character) movie since Capt America 2 and Avengers 1.
Generally speaking though, most Marvel character movies are garbage.
Marvel/Disney studios is doing a better job but the Fox licensed movies are absolute shit .

As predicted the Fantastic Four reboot is going to crash and burn because it's being done as a strictly science fiction adventure type film rather than fully embracing the fantasy superhero elements attached to the Fantastic Four. Plus I've read they don't play up the whole family dynamic that's always been a big factor in the comic book interpretation of the team.

Ant-Man is getting high ratings because in a lot of regards it's a true comic book movie, especially with comic book fans who are deeply familiar with both the Hank Pym and Scott Lang characters. Although Marvel Studios didn't do direct comic adaptions for either characters' histories and backstories, there were enough nods to each comic wise that it felt like the characters. Bumping up Ant-Man's physical abilities a bit also helped as well as the possibility of seeing the other end of the spectrum ie Pym Particles used to create Giant-Man/Goliath/giant sized objects if there is a sequel or introduced in other Marvel Films is another plus.

Yeah, l heard Fantastic Four was trashed by the critics. Relieved Marvel didn't make this one.

The story going around is that Fantastic Four was doomed from the start (no pun intended). There were rumors that the director was a tyrant on the set, and Fox big-wigs had to be brought in to smooth things over. There are also rumblings that Fox executives edited the movie together without the directors input.

That movie has been getting savaged. Four different movies and they still can't make it work. At this point I think it's time to let the rights revert back to Marvel so they can do it right. I planned on going to see it but after these reviews...nope.

I still want to see Ant-Man, though. I love Paul Rudd and if anyone can make it work, he can.
