I always say if they are two consenting adults then who are we?

Im a christian but my religous belief stops at your door steps.

I will support the gay rites mivement cause i dont want someone pushing their religion on me.

Heres the question that needs to be asked.

If a church does nt want to conduct a gay wedding...should they be forced or and sued?

Dont be so sure about that Books, a majority of people would have said the same thing about gay marriage 15-20 years ago, and here we are. Per below there are already legal inroads being made by the plural marriage activists, and they will continue using the exact same playbook as the gay marriage activists, using media (shows like, sister wives and big love) to normalize/humanize and show examples of plural marriage much like the ellen show and will and grace did for gay relationships.

Churches would never have to go through that. This is especially true since there are progressive churches which would officiate weddings. But marriage predates church and religion, and it's always been a government sponsored ordeal. So, the fear of suing and such will likely not happen at all.

It doesn't need to be asked. Even before legalization of gay marriages, churches have been turning down weddings. This won't be any different.Chances are if you are a gay person then you are going to a pro gay church just like if you are jewish or catholic etc, you are probably going to a pro whatever church.

I just don't want to be a prude and would rather hold consistency in civil and human rights.

Don't be so sure about that. This is something that is already coming up. There is question as to whether or not they will be forced to and if that would come into play with their standing with the govt.

I'm sure there will be suits filed. Give me a break....you can sue for anything. That doesn't mean they will win. But you can bet they will happen.

    Exactly.

I've noticed more and more shows that are talking about same sex marriages have been including polygamy in the conversations as well. Many think and say that it's outrageous and ridiculous to include polygamy in the conversation. People used to say the same thing when gay marriage was paired with the conversation of racism and civil rights.

When interracial marriages were legalized across the US, thanks to Loving v. Virginia, surely there were a few fear-induced individuals who thought that their way of life is being destroyed by something they are woefully ignorant of. But, looking back, there were no strong cases of churches being forced to perform interracial marriages.

The same would apply to churches regarding same-sex marriage. Also, bear in mind, there have been pushes by some denominations to open their doors to same-sex marriage ceremonies in the past three years. Progressive churches do exists and have been marrying people prior to this ruling. So again, fear-induced behavior from the reactionary bunch is a hyperexaggeration.

I'm alright with that. As long as there is no blood relationship between the two.

Very true. Christian activists made a strategic blunder pushing the "biblical" nature of marriage, because the Bible also condones plural marriages in many cases. And from a consensual behavior framework it also can be justified.

Some people thought a black man will never be president in their lifetime yet it happened. Some people thought this Supreme Court decision will never happen in their lifetime and here it is. As long as people use freedom of association and violation of human rights and the media to propagate their cause then the envelope will be pushed. It may not happen in your lifetime but it will happen as long as we chart this course. If anyone finds it vile that a man marries 2 women or step brother marries a stepsister and doesnt find it vile for two people of the same sex , the person should look in the mirror and take a long hard look.
Especially in the case of men where there is only one cavity that can be used i ask myself if i went to a restaurant and i saw a man pushing food through his ears and drinking juice through his nose, would i consider the person a mad person? There is a reason why in every female mammal there is a vagina and an anus because each has its primary function but hey this is progress, we are in the technologically advanced century so we know better. Let's carry on
