That's how Marvel eventually fucked him up though. Writers handling the X-Men books and his solo gigs kept trying to out do each other on who could come up with new and from their POV cooler shit to make him bad ass that they inevitably jumped the shark with him to the point they had to kill him off.

This all day. They have well established and interesting characters of other genders like Jean Grey, Storm, Kitty Pride etc why not make a storyline out of them. And I totally reject a black Johnny Storm just like I would a black Thor or Captain America. Either go with what we have or just make new ones, Creativity ain't dead its just that laziness and profiteering reign supreme.

    Truth.

And the really funny and fucked up thing is that quite a few aspiring Hollywood writers and directors/producers take up comic gigs to hone their skills in order to prove their creativity and make a name for themselves in order to get "discovered" for work in movies.

Not to be outdone, DC Comics is revamping its lineup and launching new storylines this month.

    Color me excited.

At least with dc, instead of killing/replacing flagship male heroes with females, they simply expanded and had dual sex versions exist in the same universe. Batgirl, supergirl, the star sapphires, etc

I disregarded the unfavorable reviews and watched the pilot, and I'm happy I did. Yes, the plot builds slowly but viewers reap the rewards of patience.

I watched the first and then the very last episode, with the intent being since the first episode was very slow going, go back and watch the middle episodes if the last episode seemed more involved as a whole to warrant it. Personally didn't grab my interest enough to want to go back and watch the whole series. I might go back and watch individual character episodes (the dude from Africa and the Korean woman) just to find out their backstories.

Yeah, I plan on checking it out for myself. It's the Watchowski's and Strazinski. How bad could it actually be? I think a lot of people these days suffer from ADD when they watch TV or and want the pay off quickly. Or, they need something calamitous to happen every episode or two otherwise they get bored.

I think I'm one of the few people who didn't have any issues with TWD when they where at Herschel's farm. ...lol

Watching anything like that would totally ruin the experience. Story is everything to me (unless the action is so out cold I don't care about the story) I like being surprised by how everything unfolds. I may as well not watch it if I already know how it ends.

But, I also, hardly ever, re-watch anything for that same reason. I already know what's going to happen. The thrill is gone. Time for the next adventure.

Had it been a regular weekly TV show set up, I would have checked out with that first episode. But since it's by the Wachowskis and J. Michael Straczynski I decided to see if it would hook me, but sadly it didn't. I'm all about story and character building but give me a little bit of red meat to get me to want to come back at the get go.

The Wachowskis might be losing their touch. Jupiter Ascending was their last big screen offering and well........

TDK made Jupiter Ascending sound like the worst thing to happen to movie theaters since pay per view. Lol

It wasn't what you would expect from the Wachowskis. Without giving away the movie, some studio head must have talked them into doing their take on a Hunger Games/Divergent type movie and it wasn't on the level of either of those movies. They have sequels (probably being based on book series) and safe to say Jupiter Ascending won't be getting any. If it does I'll be shocked.
