When I worked at McDonald's as a maintenance man(I cleaned the fryers, windows in and outside the dining area, scrubbing the sidewalks and the drive-thru), I had to put in more than 100% on the job(maybe I was a little slower because I was very thorough and I took pride in what I did). The district manager would tell me that the overtime was too much. I wanted to tear him a new one because I had so much to do and that they were too cheap to hire extra people or buy new equipment to help us to improve our performance on the job. But I kept my mouth shut. The owner who signed our checks also owned a few other stores and had been sued a couple of times because a couple of teenagers were working past the allowed time. I remember the day after 9/11, I was told to lower the flag at half staff in memoriam. But the district manager wanted the flag up. I took the flag down at half mast and saluted. A guy in a pick up truck stopped and said to me, "Amen, brother." The owner had to cave in because business or not, respect has to be paid. I remember getting my paycheck and saying, "Yeah. Daddy like." The supervising manger said, "Daddy don't like." My check was pretty large at the time. I didn't care. If I work, I get paid. We had a power outage and it affected our systems. We had to close down for the day. I remember eating a pack of peanuts from the sundae/shake area. The supervising manager told me to stop eating the peanuts. I said, "Why not? I work for them." This is why the minimum wage needs to go up. No one can really survive on what they are paying employees now.

I always wondered who cleaned the friers and stuff

I was a cook at Wendy's (11:30am hits, time to drop all the meat on the grill for the lunch rush!) but had to drain the grease from everything with a coworker. Carrying those coffin like grease pans was brutal. I had to wash dishes too when I had downtime

Where's my 'come on son?' gif

You do reuse pans and cooking utensils and....you know...anything else used in the preparation of food

I'm saddened tho...ur lack of knowledge proves that you haven't had the pleasure of minimum wage :p

I had to carry a huge pan of used oil to the grease trap which was about 50 feet away because we didn't have a drainage system like they have now. After draining the pan or box, I had to wash it down with soap and degreaser and sanitize it before a new filter went in and the pan or box was replaced. When we had a bus, I had to drop what I was doing and man the French fry station and drop fries(or hash browns during breakfast). It was a bitch but it had to be done. And another thing we had to contend with were customers who had coupons or had seen advertisements about specials on television(they forget to read the small print; participation varies. Then there was getting ice and changing soda boxes and switching the hoses on the Coke tanks.
