It would have been called back to the plantation or django rechained

I was on the bus once and some white girl got into an argument with a black girl. Some old white guy tells the white girl he wishes they were back in the old days and the white girl agreed with him, cosigning his nostalgia for a time when blacks wouldn't dare argue with whites or even be in a white neighborhood period.

Everyone on the bus just looked like 'wow is this really happening'

Not trying to knock anyone here, but games, movies, TV shows, etc... that depict a time when blacks weren't equal don't bother me. As a matter of fact, if they are done well I enjoy them as much as anything else. Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire being two of my favorite dramas.

I'd rather have them show racism for all it's sinful ugliness than white wash it (no pun intended) and have these stupid, ill informed masses point to it and walk away thinking, "See, they didn't have it all that bad." It's how it was. Plain and simple.

The Hip-hop generation is so concerned about keeping it real. But, when it comes to the historical plight of black people, they want their entertainment made saccharine for their sensitive palettes.

I say put that shit on blast! Remind people of that shit every chance we get. I don't ever want it swept under the rug because the forces against us would like nothing more than for their awful sins to be forgotten. And once that happens, they are free to begin them again. Sorry, but the "I don't want to see that ..." line of thinking is how the deletion of their moral responsibility for their sins starts.

If a show takes place in a time period where blacks where mistreated, fuck it, show it and make it as brutal as possible. 'Cause however bad it is on screen won't compare to how nightmarish it was in reality. Keep that shit real.

    I'm looking forward to Selma.

    Everyone's entitled to their opinions

    Don't be scared son! :p

I for one do not like being paired with racist, anti-black characters in my video games (that I can't get rid of) when I can simply find a real life, raging supremacist bigot on xbox live to befriend

I've never thought that I could be so unimpressed by a super hero's powers before.

Well I can safely bet that there won't be an atom movie for a long time to come.

Really? Have you ever actually thought about the real life applications of being able to shrink things or people if it were possible, especially when it comes to military or intelligence? Let it sink in for a moment.....

You know that's where they are going in the movie take however. No way they would be doing an Ant-Man solo movie otherwise....

    Consign!

Just being able to control insects is an awesome power. Then you couple it with being able to shrink that small but still retain human strength. Dude could do some serious damage.

Stealth wins the day in most battles I would think.

Nevermind using those abilities for assassination purposes. Assassin shrinks down to not only avoid detection but to enter a target's ear to enter the body to cause aneurysms or all kinds of things that would look like nature causes after the fact.

I'm talking about the movie not so much the comic. It made his powers seem unimpressive in comparison to spiderman swinging or iron man or superman. not impressed by this movie's portrayal of his powers.

It's Ant-Man. That's the point. He's not suppose to come across as impressive or flashy as everyone else with his powers. Dude gave the right reaction in the trailer when he said "Can we change the name?" How were they suppose to make it impressive? When he punches someone at ant size they explode or something?

    lol
idk .... I imagine if they can make a guy shooting arrows look impressive than someone with actual powers might be more impressive...

    I I guess I shouldn't ask for water out of a rock
