I don't think the Joker will be an actual member of the team. I think they may be doing a take on the recent Assault on Arkham animated feature where the Suicide Squad had to break into Arkham Asylum in order to get classified info or some such from the Riddler. Due to the complicated love/hate relationship between Harley Quinn and the Joker is how he comes into play. Also have to wonder now if they'll do the Harley/Deadshot/Joker triangle that played out both in the animated movie & recent Suicide Squad comics.

 

As a side note for thump...imagine the bedlam if will was cast as joker

As for the rock playing Muhammad Ali...firstly Muhammad Ali is a historical icon/living legend. Having someone non black play his role would be a HUGE disservice to history, so the writer of that article made a shitty comparison. With that said, the rock is partially black so maybe the writer needs to read up on that

 

Dude, not trying to turn this thread into "one of those topics" but I'm so sick of the white nerds' double standards and closed mindedness over people of color playing lead roles in genre films and TV that I'm seriously about done with that stuff in terms of taking part in forums, conventions, comic book stores and the like. Which is sad 'cause I really like that stuff.

It used to be a very accepting community until blacks started playing iconic characters. Then, they became just as intolerant as the people who used make fun of them.
