What exactly is negro behavior? Do tell lol
That's him assigning behavior to skin color.

If Mike Brown is guilty of a crime, I can't wait for Richard Bare to explain how the "coonery" of hip hop music is somehow related other than his dislike for black people.

I love that you play with my old man jokes lol. I have no idea how old you are but I picture you mid 40s :)

Really?? I thought I remembered $1.99 with big decorations and everything because it was a gas station war but I certainly don't remember gas for a buck! I think you've got a lil old man syndrome too :)

You are very accurate.

You are zoning in on what one WW thinks about HER life...other women on the forum speak on a broader spectrum for all women...there is a difference...some people are very much only interested in the four walls they live and work in...or their immediate neighborhood...city ...state...there is a bigger picture to women's struggles...have you ever noticed that we do not post every time a WW is killed...kidnapped...raped...if we did this place would be littered with news stories...it happens so often that we barely flinch

Women's struggles in no way shape or form takes away from the American BM..no one is trying to discount or measure except for you

Great post!

Lmao you get no sympathy from me. My step dad bought me the car but I had to pay my own ins and gas from day one. I learned early on that rich people stay rich because they're cheap as fuck lol (or just maybe it was to teach me responsibility ;)).

Yeah that explains why rich people refuse to live lavish lifestyles

O wait

Well stated

Take notice peeps...another wisdom filled post by tam...love seeing the smart savvy women contributing

Thanks, y'all.

Well said, Athena. Well said. :smt038:smt038

Great post, Tam. Unfortunately, when someone lacks any brevity of empathy, and cannot look past his own struggles, the discussion will be beaten down worse than a dead horse looking for porn to splooge.

Thanks, MS. I know it's harder for some to get or to be open to understanding where others are coming from, but I try not be one to give up hope.

No. Humans are dicks. Always have been, always will be. I have no hope for us as a human race. In fact, I literally believe we might even end this whole mess sooner rather than later. But what do I know, my crystal ball is in the shop.

Yeah, human nature in general sucks, especially when love & respect are in short supply in this world.

Lots of us have been trying g to say this for literally years but it always become weird. It hurst my heart that women struggles become so trivialized on here by many men. Its like some men on here seem to think it takes away from the bm struggle somehow. It's two different struggles, not to be compared, for obvious reasons.
I think the vast majority of the women on here has shown that again and again, but seldom get a compassionate response in turn when women issues are adressed.
I think no women on here is not aware of White privilege and the outrageous suffering ofnythe black community as a whole, and yet, we women get dismissed more often than not when we voice women struggles.

I don't think any regular women poster on here is trying to compare our struggles with the bm struggles, its an entirely different issue, and not comparable in ANY way, shape, or form; but it should not be dismissed as much as it gets on here. After all, this is a site for bm and ww and I agree with Tam, that seems to be forgotten at times. The one reason I take breaks from here. And yes, I'm being repetitive on purpose, because unfortunately its needed.

When some men complain that not more women are adding to some discussions this is the exact reason they don't. It usually ends up with ' us and them' type response so damn if we do, damn if we don't.

I wish this place was more equally supportive at times, its a long time since it was.
Most of the time I dont care, because men I meet in real life dont act like many men on here.

I still love this community though :-)

Great post, FG; I agree 100%.

I love this community too, and I want the WWBM family dynamic to be a healthy & supportive one. Things have been out of balance & unheathly for far too long, and I'm beyond ready to for things to improve. I've had enough of the 'us vs them' & the 'damned if we don't, damned if we do' crap that gets thrown at us too often around here. That's why women don't participate as much as they used to, and why some awesome women have left the board altogether.

I know I haven't been participating the way I used to, because I got tired of the hostility toward women, the redundant arguing, and the blatant lack of respect some have for the other members. It's had me feeling like it's pointless to bother, so I stopped bothering. Now I say, fuck that. I love this site & the majority of its members, and I'm done letting those who use it as a platform for their hate & bullshit keep me from participating & enjoying what this site was meant for whether they like it or not.

Tammy , Fg, Athena..I loved to read your posts, so refreshing.:smt038

Thank you, Christine.

Very healthy and much needed conversation. Hopefully the forum as a whole grows from it.

Thanks, Jaisee. I hope so too.

Damn, wish I could rep you for this. I'm going to have to come back to this post once I spread it around a bit first.

I can't rep you again...but this is exactly how i feel too.

Thanks, fellas. The stought still counts.

No, they don't call us thugs, they just call us sluts and try to slut-shame us if we report a rape.

No, we aren't called thugs. But we are humiliated in other ways when we report a rape and it goes to trial. "Well, maybe you shouldn't have worn that short skirt" or "maybe if you didn't show cleavage or wear those high heels this wouldn't have happened to you" or "no really means yes" or "maybe you shouldn't have had those drinks and left the bar with a strange guy"....etc etc etc.

A helluva lot more rapes happen around the world than are being reported for these very reasons.

Can we just appreciate and support each others' struggles and NOT try to "one up" our struggle over someone else's?

Excellent post. I repped you, but I wasn't able to finish it before it went away.

Always a voice of reason....thank you.

Thanks, Bookie, I appreciate it.

Agreed. All the "one up" crap needs to stop.

Great post, Lippy. Thank you.

If we look for the commonalities as opposed to diminishing the problems everybody, both black men and white women, face on a daily basis, then perhaps we could actually move forward and rise above it rather than holding a woe-is-me mentality.

Great post all around, especially this part.

My victim stick is bigger than yours

lmao. Yep

Yes

But so does male privilege
Class privilege
Tall height privilege
Strength privilege
Health privilege
No criminal background privilege
Intelligence privilege
Well connected privilege
Strong familial support privilege
Beauty privilege
.....
............
..................

Basically you know...I have the privilege of being xyz

Exactly. There's always someone who has it better, and there's always someone who has it worse. It sucks, but that's life.

Well said but isnt there something to be said when certain things are presented. I consider myself a progressive and just want plain equality for all fuck race and gender just treat me like a person.
And lets also be fair the shit with the men comes up more because like I said before people like us are getting executed weekly so its bound to come with certain emotions. Trust me I don't like to get on a soapbox and constantly talk about this stuff but they are killing us. Its fucking exhausting to constantly think about this shit to have to peotest for my human rights. So when the discussion is focused on that and someone derails the conversation it feels like yet another person trivializing our pain. It may not be the intention but it is the feeling. I'd rep you but I'm all out. Good post Tam

Thanks, TDK. Considering oneself progressive is a good thing, but one has to bear in mind that a progressive mentality is required for that. Not being open-minded or open to listening to what others have to say or dismissing other's points of view based on things that don't determine the value of their contribution also hinders progressiveness. If someone wants to be treated like a person and not being reduced to just race or gender, that person has to treat others that way; some of the people on this board just don't seem to understand that concept.

Whether you realize it or not, you tend to read things into what others say that usually aren't there. I don't know if it's just cynicism, pessimism, a bad experience which makes you guarded, or what, but you often react as though someone is coming at you sideways when that's not the case. I want to believe that it's not your intention to be so hostile toward the ladies (and sometimes others), but whether it's your intention or not, it does happen a lot. You also have a tendency to try to dictate conversations either by turning them into something that they're not or by pushing your own point of view as the only point of view there should be, which is never conducive to a healthy discussion. When that happens & people disagree with your opinion and/or approach, you tend to get upset & lash out accusing them of hating on you, which is rarely the case...people don't have to agree with you to like or respect you. It's like you have an obsessive need to argue and always be right/win and to hobby-ride certain issues into the ground, and it's not doing you any favors, because all it does is alienate people and hinder open & honest dialogue. As you like to say, you're smarter than that, so please stop being your own worst enemy.

Believe it or not, the women here are more than aware of what BM go through in life, and we do our best to show our love and support, especially in more trying times/situations. It's nothing short of a slap in the face to be told that we just don't get it and that we just or can't truly care due to being white & female, because that's the furthest thing from the truth. The men who have that messed up attitude need to recognize and respect that and give us the same consideration in return. We are NOT the enemy. That's why there's no need for your soapbox here...like Satchmo said, we don't need Sharpton preaching to the white women in the choir. We wouldn't be here if we weren't on the BM's side. Please try to keep that in mind as it would benefit you, the other members, and the site itself.

It would also help to remember what this site is all about, and that it's for both BM & WW.

TDK, the women on here try again and again to shake your hands, but you are just not willing to understand. These ww are the ones that support their bm, love them, they are married with them. They would stand at demonstrations in the first row with their husbands , but you try nothing else than to move black in one corner and white to the other. You see the white race as privileged and as oppressors as a whole and all the ww (representing the white race) to keep their heads down, listen to your allegations, and say" excuse me", "you are right". At the same time you don't confess any one else to accept and respect his/her problems. The females that bring up the struggles of their own gender aren't interested in talking about white females problems, they don't care, whether a woman is now, white, brown, black, whether she is christian, muslim or buddhist, whether she lives in Europe, America or middle East or Africa- they see it internationally

I am white, yes, but I am not aware of any guilt, I do not even live in USA, like many others, therefore, wwbm is an international website, not just an american..and wwbm is a website for mutual respect, understanding and not for recrimination and assessment. If you need that, redirect these thoughts and speeches to the people whom you feel oppressed or you just really are - directly. Do not change wwbm to a virtual, political war scene.

Go out, get involved in real politics,do something useful, constructive that helps to change and improve your life quality.

Excellent post, wise & wonderful Christine!!!

Exactly, well put Lippy. I don't know why when another's struggles are brought up it suddenly becomes an argument about trivializing bm struggles. My posts had NOTHING to do with trivializing anyone's struggle, nor bringing out the oppression measuring stick.

Give me a break people, you're not the only humans on the planet with bad shit happening several times a day, every day of the week. Why can't we talk about it all? Why do we have to limit our oppression discussions to just bm???

Essentially, I'm reiterating what Bookie has already eloquently stated.

Agreed. No one is trivializing anyone else's struggle or bringing out the oppression measuring stick in this conversation except for one individual. There is absolutely no reason we should have to limit the oppression discussion to just BM, because this site is for all of us and we all should be able discuss our struggles.

I'm not fronting. I just want more than one issue to be discussed, but seriously if it causes this much drama, I'll stop bothering and you can have your sausage fest/woe is me party here on wwbm, I mean bmbm.com.

I've never once trivialized the BM struggle, never once wrote that in any way. But in order to become more engaged with the forum, I thought I'd bring up the struggle of women. Which is very real, many of us have personally experienced and should be of some importance to the men who profess to love us.

If my intentions were unclear, then I am quite surprised that so many of the posters here understood the conversation and didn't turn it into "the oppression olympics."

What do you mean I was trying to correct you?

Don't you dare "stop bothering"! Don't give in to that crap; we've stopped bothering long enough! To hell with the sausage fest/woe is me party/oppression olymics on "bmbm.com"...if they want a sausage fest, they can start their own damn website, and we can spend our time & energy interacting with the men on here who do love, respect, and appreciate us & where we're coming from.

I wouldn't bother. Don't you know he can turn ANYTHING we say into "we have it so much worse".

I'm so done with this conversation. You can't win with TDK. He's always right no matter what.

But you are right about one thing, if TDK had his way, it WOULD become bmbm.com.

The sad thing is, he's not winning anything even when he "wins".

Ohmygoodness, Im missing so many good posts that were buried. Outstanding summation Lippy.. will rep you if I can, when off this phone. Very much loving my wordly, aware sisters speaking so genuinely! And mad respect to the men who understand us, too.

Amen.

This is the random conversation thread, yes? In which we can bring up any random topic, or so I thought.

Yep, it sure is.

Again, you're using tunnel vision and severe lack of empathy regarding the plight of what women, in general, have to go through in a dick-centric society. This is especially true when you downplayed certain problems that women do face on a daily basis. The fact you blatantly dismissed Bliss's response to something similar to Michael Brown shows that you're part of that problem yourself. You wanted something similar, she provided that, and yet you downplayed it because the numbers aren't as big. You just hate the idea of being proven wrong, which I can clearly see in this respect, especially if we're talking about women debating you.

Regarding what [white] women face even in countries like this? Sex is pretty much the root bit, whether we're talking sex trafficking or even just annoying and unwanted sexual advances by guys who can't read cues or just refuse to let go of their own egocentric mentality, which could eventually lead to rape and abuse and if the women were to go forward, some places, especially if you're a man of a high position, would be dismissive of the woman. As for economics, women get paid less than their male counterparts for the same position, and yet they pay more into their fabric and clothing. Sure, you're quick to assert the sick days bit, but that's irrelevant if we're talking career women who don't have children at all.

And yes, you are exercising a woe-is-me mentality. I'm not entirely sure if you want to have a solution for any of this or you rather whine your way for some sort of sympathy points and just continue the status quo.

Despite those cases like Michael Brown and Trayvon Martin, as a society, we have improved steadily in terms of relations between one another. The only real hindrances are not being more involved and influencing children into looking past those things and pushing them more into a harmonized mindset and drill it into their minds. It's merely a dream in that instance now, but it'll eventually become a reality close the near end of this century.

We were talking about in respects to this country were we not?
Who is saying woe is me? That's incredibly reductionist and dismissive. And what problems do ww face because they are white women? Even if you say women suffer certain atrocities in this country or even the world those atrocities are experienced disproportionately by non white women. And this Michael Brown was a criminal mantra again distracts from the obvious blaring problem that people love to overlook. People protested something that they thought was wrong and how were they encountered by law enforcement? By fucking tanks tear gas and rubber bullets. The public at large sided with this because the population being mistreated were black and a bunch of black sympathesizers. So it's not about whether or not Michael Brown was a criminal it's this weekly execution of black males on camera and almost no one getting in trouble for it and if you dare protest it the state hits you with a damn SWAT team.

MOVING FORWARD:

Ladies which would you rather have your man bring home...?

3 carat Diamond earrings or

A trip to france.

I have no interest in either one, so I guess I'd pick the earrings to sell them and use the money to go somewhere else.

I can't even imagine how long it took you to type out those well-reasoned responses, but thank you, Tam.

You rock more than words can say.

:prayer: :prayer: :prayer:

This is simply not true at all.
Bliss's point fell flat because it was obvious.... never mind I'm pissing in the wind here. Like I said let's all use the ignore function and move on

It's not preaching as much as it's just my point of view and most of my posts are responses to other people that don't agree or hate that I don't view life through the same exact lens they do. Look how many posts we've spent on this. It's no longer about I see life differently or you see life differently its "why can't you just see it my way"
I don't require anyone to see life my way, just expressing myself and if I am so unbareable there are options. This site is a very good lesson in learning that no one's mind ever does change. We believe what we believe no matter what information is available.
