Black Jesus was funny. But, I think the point of the show was for Jesus to gather a flock of people to grow a garden. The garden symbolized something good and it gave the flock something worthwhile to do. I would never have thought that Jesus would swear. LOL It was good while it lasted. Maybe it will be on DVD or picked up by another network(and then they'll cut it down to nothing). A show like this needs to be on IFC, Starz, Cinemax, HBO and others.
I thought that the point of the show was to show how people are. Black, white, today, or 2000+ years ago. They would treat Jesus like shit no matter what/where, and he'd let them and be fine with it. People are assholes. lol
That was probably one other point of Black Jesus. But I think the focus was more on Jesus and the mission of his new disciples in their neighborhood and the challenges from those that are skeptical of him. Dealing with guns instead of swords and spears. I liked how Jesus was able to acknowledge everyone's imperfections; like the guy whose Mexican girlfriend(who is a cop)is an atheist and Jesus still says that she is good for him despite that fact.
I loved it how he'd know stuff (like people's secrets or what they did) and would do miracles (while they'd play that sound each time, lol). Or how people would either think he's some crazy hobo or ask him for (material) stuff. But overall, he was just an awesome, laid back dude, who happened to be the son of God. lol
