ROFL. Two grown men in love and kissing makes folks uncomfortable I guess. As a black man in America I try to be the last one to cast shade on others. Too much b.s encountered to not know better.

Michael Sam is what he is and he was honest and upfront about it, love it or hate it.

In the history of the nfl draft, when has a 7th rounder 240-some odd pick ever had a camera set up in their crib? Go ahead....i'll wait.

dude is headed for reality TV...i doubt he will put the work in to do anything more than warm the bench...if he was serious about football he would have performed better at combine...instead he was more interested about his news coverage...i bet the other gay NFL players are thinking he is a dumb ass for putting himself in the spot light...what is likely to happen is that every move he makes good or bad will be in the "spotlight" not about him being gay anymore but ALL about his football abilities...

dude can kiss whoever he wants...now the question is...can he measure up on the field in the NFL...i feel like he set himself up to be scrutinized...

yeah i mentioned the tv deal earlier.....i agree with u in that he put himself under alot of scrutiny but due to thr miami bullying situation it could be seen as a brilliant chess move

if he doesn't make the team it will be because of his ability not because he is gay...they already drafted him when other teams passed...another words they have given him a chance to win a position...if he doesn't have the skills he will be done

Brett Favre was a 2nd rou d draft pick. My question was when was the last time you heard of a 7th rounder having a camera at his house during the draft?

Reality show was cancelled 'postponed' by the Rams.

dude im sure they had a slew of people at thier homes
the main point is he didnt invite them they asked. u mad him because they came to his house , filmed him kissing in his house. get mad at the media. dont hate the player hate the game.
thats why you wouldnt answer my questions about, who owned the cameras , studios and who aired the kiss.
its not his fault....its your fault and thiers.

Right. For some reason, when it comes to gays, people want to down play their "firsts." Football is a huge deal and it's typically associated with the most manly of qualities in our society. For an openly gay dude to be in the NFL is a huge deal to a large (and financially powerful) portion of the American public.

Of course his ability to play is the most important thing here. And, if he can't cut it, he'll wash out. But, let's not under estimate the importance of this milestone to the gay community and America as a whole. Gays have had it ruff. Especially gay kids. This means something to them.

It's easy to sit back, keep your head down and pretend to be something you're not for the sake of going along to get along. But dude is like eff all ya'll. I'm gay, I'm playing football. What?

He deserves all the attention he's getting.

If Hilary becomes president she'll get more accolades than whoever she beats. Even if she wins by very minor margins. And she will deserve all the attention she gets because she will be a "first" in a very high profile job. Then, all that attention will die down and it will be about her performance. Same thing here.

i agree. due to the miami bullying it was a good time to come out. i think he should have made the team first then come out

Why I gotta be mad? Havent called you out of your name or disrespected you. Just a healthy discussion.

And yes, espn owns the cameras and broadcasts the
footage, but they couldn't do it without his permission. And to my recollection no network has ever went to the home of a 7th rounder. I even googled it but didn't find anything. I'll eat my humble pie if I'm wrong.

No one here has said anything about them not liking that he came out.

Good for him for doing it before the draft and doing it at all. That's great.

But I'm tired of hearing his name along with the phrase "the first openly gay football player". Anyone and everyone knows it by now. I don't need to be beat over the head with that phrase EVERY SINGLE TIME THEY TALK ABOUT THE GUY.

Now he has to prove himself as a player - gay or not.

I'm sure you are right but mr homophobe lol
Ever hear of Jeremy bloom? 5th rd pick dude had endorsement deals out of his ass why? Fought the NCAA over ski $ or the one arm pitcher from Michigan that also played qb? He as well had a ton of press just a few years ago all the tebow mania? Just because Denver picked him in the 1st rd doesn't mean it was smart, whoever watched him at fla knew they hype was about his faith ( anyone with a drop of football iq knew his ass wasn't playing qb on Sundays)
Relax my man after the next big story Sam story will be pushed to the back page
Till it's a superstar hope the coverage isn't as big a deal but it will be
