character is your salvation...many educated crackheads..alcoholics...and junkies of every description out there.

Educated people quit everyday....not those with character..

Just look at all the educated women working the stripper pole and blowing domes in porno flicks...

    Character > Education

Education develops character. One can follow a path for so long to develop character. But education teaches an individual how to slow down and see with their minds and their eyes open. There are a few performers in porn who have genius IQs(Asia Carrera was a member of MENSA). These individuals chose that path. It didn't choose them.

These Reddit Users Can't Get How A Black Student Got Into All 8 Ivy League Schools

Earlier this week the Internet met Kwasi Enin, a student who got accepted into all eight Ivy League universities. It’s an impressive feat for any student to accomplish; however, some commenters on Reddit are claiming the 17-year-old student from Long Island, N.Y., didn’t get accepted based on his merit alone.

In a racially fueled Reddit thread centered around Enin’s story, many users embroiled by his sweeping acceptance run say he only got in because of his race.

According to information compiled from USA Today and CNN, Enin scored a 2250 (out of 2400) on his SAT and placed in the 98th percentile of all students. He ranks 11th in his high school class of 647, and he has taken 11 Advanced Placement classes. He volunteers at Stony Brook University Hospital's radiology department, and he sings in his school's a cappella group. He throws shot put and discus for the track and field team, and he consistently lands lead roles in school plays.

Despite the impressive resume, some don’t think it was enough for his 8/8 acceptance rate. Here are a smattering of some of the racially charged Reddit rants in reaction to Enin’s accomplishment:

Thankfully, others quickly came to Enin's defense:

Smh yet they don't say a peep when tons of legacies get special consideration simply because i f the egg and sperm that created them. No bitching or crying over kids who get in because they're grandparents donated a building. So obnoxious.

Education does not develope character...you got it backwards.

This same kid we're talking about...with all his education...can still be a failure...without character.

    If group A ....stresses education

    While

    Group B..... stresses character

I'll put my money on group B.

LOL. Most national universities are in the business of social engineering and they pursue a diverse student body as a part of their academic mission.

A young Black man who's a high academic achiever is simply going to be in demand for most schools. Get over it.

Also I find it hilarious that because Asians as a group are overrepresented at many colleges, they bitch and moan when a school thinks it might be to their benefit to find an equally qualified candidate from a different ethnic background.

Admissions is never 'just' about race. Or gender. Or family income. Or grades. Or standardized test scores. There's no universal formula to get into a highly competitive college.

The more unique a candidate you are, the better your chances for admission.

For instance if you come from a small town, or are one of the only people in your family to attend college, you're going to have a better shot at getting into a competitive school than someone who attends a suburban HS in Boston, LA or NY.

This kid just so happens to be more 'special' in total than many of his fellow applicants.

People are hating on this kid like he's a marginal academic qualifier.

Finally the guy is probably a D1 level athlete and was recruited to participate in track and field for all the schools he applied.

If you're a D1 athlete with the grades and extracurriculars and the test scores, it's a wrap.

Not many applicants can touch you.

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman rubs me the wrong way big time, but if he had wanted to go play football in the Ivy league, trust he probably would have been admitted to all 8 schools too.

Same goes for Grant Hill, Kobe Bryant, RG3 and Russell Wilson.

Even alumni at Ivy league schools donate money to their athletic departments and want to see their alma maters field competitive athletic teams.

I just hate to hear whiners complain about a kid who's nearly one of none when it comes to the majority of all college applicants, forget being Black.

LMFAO @ all the comments from supposedly genius level people (or friend of a friend of a friend, blah blah blah, etc) that are laced with misspellings, poor grammar, etc. I guess these brilliant folks didn't need passing grades in English to help with college admission. Ever notice how many people in situations like this ALWAYS have tons of anecdotal (my friend told me they didn't get in because of a black kid) kinds of stories, but no concrete examples, no specifically named universities? Last time I checked, universities didn't word their rejection letters "Sorry, but we decided to give a black student "your" spot."

And, until admissions are driven SOLELY by academics (no consideration for wealth, connections, legacies, recommendations, etc) these naysayers can kiss my ass. These students are clearly (no matter what these idiots think) among the highest level of achievement among the nation's youth, and they deserve every single accolade. This nonsense about whites and Asians having the hardest time getting into college is ludicrous.

Well its subtle racism. God forbid if someone they consider inferior gets ahead because we all know this shit is rarely based entirely on merit not to mention they focus so damn hard on this one black kid as if every single non black person attending these schools have better academic resumes. Even if he's part of the middle percentile he's still done better than a bunch of people but no thats never considered. Those hundreds or thousands of kids attending who did worst than him who are attending the same schools are never held under the same scrutiny. I wonder why..
