If any white guy could pull it off it would be him

I have no problem with white actors being cast in any of those roles (except Black Panther. He, by definition, has to be black. After all, he is the King of an ancient African tribe). Just as long as we get to be Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, etc ... Nothing about the other characters is dependent on race. If anything, Spider-Man would work better as a black guy in this day and age.

So, bring it on. Let's trade! I'll gladly give them Blade and Static for Superman. Eff' the D-list. We're like Mercedes; either the best or nothing. ...lol

If race doesn't play a factor for the other characters why should it for Black Panther? There are plenty of non black characters with "Black" in their name & they don't have to make him a king from an African nation. There in lies how they kill characters. And Static is pretty much the black version of Spider-Man in a lot of regards, just with a different power set never mind the fact they already have the Miles Morales Ultimate Version Spider-Man.

No, not the name. The fact that he comes from a bloodline of African rulers of an all black African tribe. If it were about the name, then Black Bolt should be black. Gain, not what I meant.

Yeah, Static is basically the black Spider-Man. But, he isn't thee Spider-man. Same with Miles Morales. Again, there is nothing about Spider-man that is race specific. Peter Parker could be any race.

I understood what you meant, but why would they have to stick to Black Panther being black or from Africa in order to do a Black Panther movie? They could do an "Iron Fist" type move and have him be some non black person who was raised in Wakanda by the royal family & assumes the Black Panther mantle that way. Kind of like the rumor that the Micheal B. Jordan Johnny Storm may be adopted to explain how he & Sue Storm are brother & sister if they stick with a white actress for the role. There are all kinds of ways for movie produces/directors to get around the race of characters if they wanted to, Black Panther included. Once you open the Pandora's Box of race switching any rules effectively go out the window.

    Justice League: War

    Cast Members

Alan Tudyk as Clark Kent / Superman
Jason O'Mara as Bruce Wayne / Batman
Justin Kirk as Hal Jordan / Green Lantern
Michelle Monaghan as Princess Diana / Wonder Woman
Christopher Gorham as Barry Allen / The Flash
Shemar Moore as Victor Stone / Cyborg
    Sean Astin as Shazam
    Steven Blum as Darkseid
    Bruce Thomas as Desaad
    Rocky Carroll as Silas Stone
    Zach Callison as Billy Batson
    George Newbern as Steve Trevor

I'm surprised that George Newbern didn't reprise his role as the Man of Steel. But regardless, we'll have to wait until Valentine's Day of next year for this DVD/Blu-Ray special to come out. And Steven Blum as Darkseid make it all the better. Well, this New 52 origin story should be interesting to watch!

Not from that little voice sample of Darkseid that was heard. Unless they are planning to add some kind of distortion to his voice before final release, that's one of the most ill fitting voice matches ever. And I'm a Steven Blum voice fan.

That signature voice from Blum definitely fits the mysterious, yet sinister crop of Darkseid. He can pull it off with a wide variety of characters and it never gets old nor out of place. No need for any vocal distortion mechanisms.

To each his own I guess. Not enough depth in his voice for Darkseid IMO. I'm hearing Wolverine play acting as Darkseid. They could have gotten Kevin Grevioux to come in and do the voice. Blum is more suited for doing Batman than Darkseid.

Keith David should do every tough/bad guy voice. IMHO.

I actually agree with this post. No argument here.

But Blum has been a major player in the VO business. I remember him from Cowboy Bebop and since then, been looking around for his voice in numerous animes...which is where he gained a lot of traction.

His Goliath & Thaliog from Gargoyles is one of my all time favorite characters voices.

Steven Blum was also the voice of The Flash in The Justice League and the voice of Wolverine in Hulk Vs. Wolverine and in the Marvel Anime series. I loved him in Cowboy Bebop, too.

Blum wasn't the voice of the Flash in the Justice League/Justice League Unlimited series. Michael Rosenbaum, the guy who was Lex Luthor in Smallville was the voice for Wally West/Flash in that series. Milo Ventimiglia, Peter Petrelli from the Heroes TV series was the voice of Wolverine in the Marvel anime series.

Marvel has announced a deal with Netflix to produce 4 superhero shows. Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones (Luke Cage's wife), and Iron Fist. Eventually all four series will come together in a mini-series, were the heroes team up to form The Defenders. The whole deal is to kick off in 2015.

Clearly Disney isn't at all worried about over-saturation of superheroes.

I am kind of exited that marvel is giving TV another chance, because their current TV series SHIELD, sucks donkey balls.

It's funny how well Netflix has re-invented it's self. Just a few short years ago they almost went belly up. Now they are the hottest thing in the industry.

If they actually had the characters in the SHIELD jumpsuits & high tech weapons/gadgets battling actual costumed villains from the Marvel Universe or the current day incarnation of HYDRA, since they introduced them in the first Captain America movie or even the Zodiac as a super powered terrorist cell, rather than the plain clothes cop/detective show formula they are taking with the show it probably would be faring far better in the ratings. I stopped watching after the second episode.

Exactly, they should have stuck truer to what SHIELD is supposed to be. There are so many B, C, and D level heroes and villains in the Marvel Universe. They could be telling stories for years without having to resort to the silly NCIS type episodes the show is making now.
