Yeah, you guys both have a point. I hate nostalgia, because it's played out. But I have to say that is one of the few things that is qualitatively different from my youth. We played just to... play. If you had a ball you played soccer or basketball. If there was no ball, you just ran races, climbed trees, whatever. It seems like kids don't want to break a sweat these days.

It's ridiculous. Let's see if these reports of them giving up this fools' errand are true. I'm watching the news even as we speak/type.

Yeah, I worked my butt off for Alex Sink, but 'twas not to be. I cringe every time I read anything about Rick Scott. But he pulled in big numbers in the panhandle, up around Ocala, northeast FL and the conservative retirees along the Gulf Coast.

 

I can only imagine the southern parts being akin to islands. Florida Sector-21 or Louisiana Parish Lines-69

Just came back from a conference in Chicago and had a very unsettling conversation with two Indian guys, one academic and one pharma dude. They were both complaining about 'white women' not being interested in 'brown men' and then went on a rant, joking about me going to the gym with them 'volunteerily' and rhyming on stuff like 'if you date Hispanic, your parents will panic' etc. They spoke about Indian and Asian combinations as the most unfortunate, bringing ugly children to the world (I have 3 Indian-Asian marriage friends couples with children). I was crawling out of my skin.

I am ugly as sin and last night two white girls came up to me and black friends and started talking to us. They were pretty and fun and spent of the night dancing with us and buying drinks. If you have a shitty aura no one wants that and it has nothing to do with being brown.

So true!! That kind of woe is me attitude, thinking ww won't give them the time of day because they're "brown" is such a turn off. Being confident in who you are and what you have to offer goes a long way. Some would rather just play the victim instead of actually going after what they want.

 

Average looking dudes, but the instigator in all the ugliness talk has a really horrible personality and I almost told him its not his skin but shitty attitude that keeps women away. Can't do it, he is a customer.
