Hmm. Don't know about a grandson/great grandson for Mace Windu since the Jedi weren't suppose to have families due to having to be fully dedicated to the Jedi Order & their duties as protectors,hence why Anakin & Padmi kept their marriage a secret. Unless he had some fling with someone while out in the field on some Jedi related mission, don't see them going that route. A grand nephew or great grand nephew, maybe however.

 

Anyone else catch the first episode of Agents of SHIELD? Thoughts?


Also Sleepy Hollow. Anyone watch the first two episodes that have aired?

 

Shield was decent liked dudes speech about people and the social contract.

Sleepy Hollow was promising but only the airial shots are in Westchester where I live. The show is filmed in NC which wad a let down not to mention the cops don't dress like that.

 

I really wanted to like Agents of SHIELD, but that first episode didn't impress me at all.

I thought the brother was going to be a cast member, but it seems he might be a recurring character at most.

The pretty young (and almost all white) cast are instantly forgettable. I don't know why Joss Whedon and company think we need a show filled with 20 somethings.

A hot hacker chick, working alone from a van, easily breaks the firewall and encryption of the most secretive government agency on Earth? Ok, sure why not.

I hope they give Ming-Na better things to do in the series, because she was almost forgotten in this first episode.

I know the producers want the show to stand on it's own merits, but it needs more MARVEL Universe in it (characters, settings, references, etc.). As of right now it just seems like NCIS with a bigger budget.

Also one thing that kind of annoyed me, the show comes out and says that SHIELD is a shadowy secret organization right?, So why would a secretive organization put their logo on everything they own?

It is only just the pilot, and a lot of shows find their footing after shaky pilots. I'm a huge comics nerd, Marvel comics especially, so I will give it a healthy amount of episodes to get it's shit together.

SHIELD was about what I expected. Worth watching, but not great. That's how all of Wheadon's shows start. They begin very basic, with a few crumbs of something great sprinkled about. Then, a few shows in, BAM! That 'ish gets good as hell. Buffy, Angel, Doll House and Firefly (though I must confess to not really liking Firefly very much) were all like that. I think this will end up being a must watch show if ABC sticks with it. Wheaton plays the long game when he's plotting his show's story arcs.

Sleepy Hollow was really good that first episode. Len Wiseman directed it. He's one of the show's creators, plus he co-created Underworld, Directed a Die Hard flick, etc ... Basically, while he's not a great director, he's good enough to make some entertaining genre fare. Because of him, the Sleepy Hallow pilot had a "big screen" feel to it. The second episode? Not so much. It was a very "by the numbers" show. Wasn't bad, wasn't good. Was just okay. Hopefully, the rest of the season can match the quality set by pilot.

I'm just waiting for new episodes of The Walking Dead and Dr. Who.

Did anyone get into Alphas when it was on?

 

Watched a few off & on but never really got into the show. The Sci-Fi/Sy-Fy Channel has a bad habit of pulling the plug on any of the original sci-fi related series that they acquire from other countries (Canada, UK) or that they actually produce (Stargate Universe anyone) over the reality based crap or straight to DVD Saturday night genre flicks they are produce, so its hard to get into any shows they have knowing they could pull the plug at any minute. You would think after the success of the Battlestar Galactica update series they would be more willing to take risk on new shows despite budget concerns regarding the shows. Putting out quality shows would pay off for more than the crap they put on in the long run.

 

Amen sir. I really liked Alphas. Hope they don't mess up Continuum

 

Continuum, Haven & Lost Girl are basically the only three non realty related shows they currently have. I don't count Being Human because it's an Americanized version of the original British series.

Haven't watched Haven or Lost Girl. They both seem kind of hokey to me. I tend to li e my gene shows a bit more serious. Maybe, I should give them a chance, though.

Defiance is looking like it will end up being good if they leave it on long enough.

My girl got me watching Once Upon A Time. It's not bad. Worth watching if you're secure in your manhood. ...lol Of course all the black people in it are either bad or dead.

Torchwood is another good one. But, the lead guy is like bisexual version of Captain Kirk. He's banging err' thang. And some of that shit don't even look sexually compatible with the human species. But hey, I'm liberal minded, to each his or her own.

Mad cute but another in a long string of bw paired with white guys. Sucks that they won't take a chance on bm/ww pairing.

Two years ago, Nintendo released the official Zelda Timeline, and while it was speculated that there were two branching paths (Ocarina of Time), it's been confirmed that it's actually three. Samuel L. Jackson confirms Elizabeth Olsen joining "Avengers: Age of Ultron"

Samuel L. Jackson is spilling a bit of "Avengers" scoop.

The actor revealed that Elizabeth Olsen will be joining the cast of "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

"I don't think we begin shooting before March of next year," Jackson told The Wall Street Journal of the Joss Whedon-written and directed Marvel sequel. "I know we're shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen, but I don't know what she's doing, if she's on the inside or the outside. I haven't seen a script."

He doesn't specifically say what role she's playing, but Hitfix notes it had been rumored that she was circling the role of Scarlet Witch.

Jackson made the comment while talking about his cameo as Nick Fury on this week's episode of ABC's "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

Scarlet Witch is the daughter of Magneto and the twin sister of Quicksilver, meaning she also has ties to the X-Men. Quicksilver will be played by Evan Peters ("American Horror Story") in the next film in that superhero franchise, "X-Men: Days of Future Past." It's been rumored that Aaron Taylor-Johnson ("Kick-Ass") will play the same character in "Age of Ultron."

Olsen, 24, is the younger sister of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. Her other acting credits include "Martha Marcy May Marlene," "Silent House" and the upcoming "Kill Your Darlings," "Oldboy" and remake of "Godzilla."

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" is set to be released on May 1, 2015.

 

Michael Jai White is set to appear in the second episode of Season 2 of the CW's Arrow series as martial artist Ben Turner aka the Bronze Tiger. Anyone who has read the old Suicide Squad comic series is familiar with this character.
