How he came to earth & was found was patterned after Superman simply to acknowledge that he was Milestone Media's version of Superman. Beyond that Icon is more of an alien living among humans. He doesn't have that same connection to human beings that Superman does because he's always known he wasn't human & knew about his native planet & culture.

Latest issue of Dark Horse Comics' Star Wars: Legacy. They have a story featuring a Black "Imperial' Knight (kind of a Jedi off shoot). I only mention this because of the rarity of Black main characters in the Star Wars Expanded Universe.

Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage on the set of X-Men : Days of Future Past. Online speculation is that the character he's playing is Bolivar Trask creator of the robotic mutant hunting Sentinels.

Kind of odd casting news for Marvels upcoming Guardians Of The Galaxy.

Glenn Close and John C. Reilly have been cast.

Glenn as the Head of the Nova Corp. (Marvels answer to the Green Lanterns) John as a Agent Coulson type character who is a liaison between S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Guardians.

two great actors when it comes to doing what they do

John C is going to bring some decent comedy/slapstick/making an ass out of yourself, to the film, while glenn close is going to bring her usual A-game when it comes to drama/authority figures

Karen Gillan, who played Amy Pond on Doctor Who, is joining the cast of the Guardians of the Galaxy movie as the "lead female villain."
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Gillan will be part of a troika of villains, along with Lee Pace and Michael Rooker.

John C. Reilly has done serious work, too. Look at his roles in The Perfect Storm, Boogie Nights and Chicago. He even played Stanley Kowalski in Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire on Broadway(a lot of critics thought he was miscast). Glenn Close really surprised me as the police captain on The Shield(the scene in which she is interrogating Anthony Anderson's villainous character Antoine Mitchell was classic). She can dish it out, take it and ask for more. I'm surprised she was not considered to play Catherine Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager(Jenvieve Bujold had the role but she walked out. Kate Mulgrew got it. But what if Glenn Close played Janeway? Probably no difference, except hair color.

Benicio Del Toro has been confirmed as joining the cast of the Guardians Of The Galaxy. They are keeping his role under wraps, but he’s playing a character that is said to be playing a part of future Marvel films, which means he has signed a deal with options that put him into multiple movies. Hmmm. Thanos perhaps??

btw was i not the one who called Winter Soldier for being included in a Capt Movie?

he was in the video game Marvel Ultimate Alliance as a special mission for Capt, and you know the reach of video games when it comes to putting characters out there

I hope not. Benicio Del Toro always comes accross as the creepy and crazy villain archetype, not the regal Supervillian archetype.

Wait...so Thanos is not creepy or crazy in your book? A being obsessed with death? Not only does he worship death but he's in love with the physical embodiment of death. If that's not creepy & crazy, then I don't know what is. Thanos may not be over the top crazy like Joker, be he's still crazy.
