"Shit music" is in the ear of the beholder! I hate country music (style and content), but does that make it shit? Nope. Whatever floats your boat though. Hate on love.

No its not and I can't stand that standards have fallen so damn low. First off I can guarantee there is some country music you would like there is no such thing as a genre where there isn't pockets of it that would appeal to many people. Now as for rap there has always been a standard of good lyrical content, with a good flow, and a dope beat. Now all we get is the same lame ass recycled beats with mediocre flows and no lyrics? Its literally shit music. I miss the days when different coasts had different sounds and different perspectives now its all one big disgusting mess. If you like it good for you but I'll still call it what it is SHIT

Challenge accepted. In my 32 years, I've never stumbled across a country song that didn't make me nauseous.

In regards to your comment about rap becoming one big disgusting mess...I do somewhat agree. Styles have become much more universal (especially between the WC and the South). I still think east coast rap has a different flair (one that I'm not particularly fond of so it tends to stick out to me) but generally speaking, beats and lyrics nowadays seem to all have a similar flavor. If you look at the 4,000+ songs on my ipod...an easy 90-95% is from prior to 2000. There are decent new tracks coming out, but they don't even come close to the 90s era of rap.

No no no...I'm talking straight COUNTRY music. As in country artist, country twang...not country writer performed by non-country superstar!

Country music isn't reserved to just a twang just like every rapper doesn't use the word nigga in their lyrics

I plan to win fair and square. You like love songs/ballads or purely faster tempo songs?

The best country music I've heard was back in the 70's and early to mid 80's. I remember singing along with my friends to Glen Campbell's Rhinestone Cowboy. Waking up to his song Sunflower. I remember listening to Marie Osmond's Paper Roses. Lynn Anderson's I Never Promised You A Rose Garden, Any Gordon Lightfoot song. The Oakridge Boys. The Statler Brothers,(Flowers On The Wall)Dolly Parton and many others. It may not all appeal to a lot of tastes, but it is good. Rap is no exception. Eminem(Marshall Mathers)used timing and wording to be relevant. No one rapper can do that now. Sometimes listening to a rap song in a foreign language can be interesting(Spanish, Japanese, Portuguese, East Indian, Arabic, etc).

Your "romance rotation" and my "romance rotation" are worlds apart. Honestly, after listening to chunks of each song, I think one problem is that I don't like guitars! And I don't like the whininess of the performers. I do think Carrie Underwood is ridiculously hot, and some of her stuff is manageable...but is she more pop and less country??

    lol guess i lose

And I disagree that you dislike the guitar because I'm sure there are r&b songs with that classic steel guitar that you probably like but I might have to agree with the whininess

Ok...did a little research and you're totally right (imagine that)! I found a few songs that I actually LOVE...and they're totally country. I actually added them to my ipod (to my run playlist, not the car playlist lol).
