The camera can put a few pounds on a person while the camera is in operation. Then add makeup and lighting. Nina has some curves, for a twentysomething. A lot of models are thin for most fashion shows because the clothes move well with them. Swimwear is a little different in that the model has to be ready for the unexpected. The female model has to be flexible to wear bikinis, maillots, tankinis, monokinis, etc.

I knew a few models in my day. I had operated video cameras. And I have looked at women's magazines and store catalogs(Penney's,Sear's,etc) over the years. A maillot is a strapped one-piece swimsuit.

 

A tankini is a bikini with a tank top. The bottoms vary in style and cut.
