I never said it was offensive but like I said let that be a happy go lucky white person speaking in "hood" speech guarantee you motherfuckas would be up in arms. Quit pretending homie

lmao was actually speaking about the guy in the commercial. Keep in mind Em got a lot of flack at first. He was lucky he got cosigned by a lot prominent people in the industry like LL, Missy, and of course Dre when he started, because other talented dudes didn't a shot. Shit look at Robin Thicke, took dude way longer than it should have to get a hit going because people weren't supporting the white dude doing R&B thing at the time.

i was kinda 'whats the big deal' about robin thicke at first..but he actually seems like a cool dude

he tries to genuinely connect with blacks by addressing certain issues and stuff that we deal with

social acceptance is a two-way street

i guess some of reason we respond the way we do, is because as a group of people, we're just not used to having positive power, sway or influence like that, so when see whites embodying ourselves we get offended

they still can't say the n word tho

if the guy in the ad was saying 'ya mi nicca' then the responses would be different:p

If its a hot white woman during sex she has a free pass in my book :smt030

But I think you are onto something that we as a group do sometimes jump to offense when are being depicted because for most of our interactions with whites in this country for the most part it has never gone over too well. Normalization is a long road ahead but we actually have to walk that road for it to happen.

after Sambo, blackface, caricatures et all..it's not hard to understand

but look at other non-black ethnicities that emulate what we do, and how we accept them

hell..latinos over here got so comfortable with being like us, that they even use the n-word towards each other and towards other blacks, like they are black

that still makes me weird a bit...but you can't blame them. Lots of non-black people listen to black music and are growing up in a slightly different time than we did. they think it's cool and acceptable because of the way the shit is portrayed in media.

I remember when people gave Jennifer Lopez so much shit about that but no one says a damn thing to Fat Joe. I wonder why?lol

    fat joe is arrogant

but at the same time, i see groups of latinos/blacks using nigga all day long

that's kinda why i never understood the rifts between latinos/blacks in other areas of the country

growing up, i was always cool with them and we were kinda in the same boat with racist whites fucking with our people:(

i told u all before (if anyone reads the shit i write), where a latino girl i had on the sidelines got offended when i asked a white girl out to the prom

she gave me more sellout shit than a black woman

Oh yeah, the boricuas and the blacks were cool as fuck with each other when I was in hs. For the reason you said, we were all in the same boat together. I didn't know how deep it was on the west coast until I came on here and people schooled me to the Mexican vs blacks beef.
I ain't gonna lie though a lot of spanish dudes weren't cool with us dating "their" women. Seems like everyone is scared to death we're gonna stretch the women out so they can't be with them anymore. I can't see any other reason.

    so true

there's enough bad shit out there to call a jamaican, and being happy/care free is not one of them.

    seriously though

people take that black man taking our women shit to a whole other level

fuck em tho...if you can get play from multiple races of women, more power to you :smt109

Shit that's where yall have me beat. I only get liberal white women and the occasional black chick who is through with "thugs" lol. One Asian chick liked me in hs and latina chicks are cool but I have never felt even the slightest chemistry with those chicks. Truthfully everything I disliked about black chicks from neighborhood growing up all these chicks embodied.
I always admired dudes who seem to have such a wide net to cast. You can literally be with almost anyone. I tell my chick all the time if we broke up I'd probably be single for years again.

it helped that a significant portion of my old HS was asian

my belief is that if you're not around a certain group of people, your chances of interacting and doing more become slim

fast forward to where I work, and it's mostly the black/white girls that express interest

i do love the occasional moment when a black woman comes up to me and asks me if i date bw...or asks me if i only date ww

do i come of as that square?

i tell them i literally like any shade of woman and instead of embracing such appreciation for the opposite sex, they look at me like im a moron

i will say this tho..just about every ww i met or known has always been willing to drive me around and never insulted me for not 'stepping my game up'

that part of the feminist movement I do like :smt081

Amen sir. Interestingly enough all us corny dudes start looking real good with our jobs and good credit opposed to those dudes with swag they were damn near dying over when they were younger. In fact all the corny dudes are in great relationships while the swag hunters (race doesn't matter on this one) constantly bitch about there not being any good guys out there. I wonder why?
