combat roles to women?

im too lazy to address multiple issues in on post..so im going to take a page out of goodlove's book and get sillier than a mothafucka

..quoting the same shit over and over every time he gets a new thought

:smt033

anyway

from what i understand, women just want the chance to be in a combat MOS, because combat unit leaders tend to move up that career chain with more ease. being a decorated combat vet, whose spent time leading direct-action operations, patrols, recon ops and shit like that, makes people's dicks hard and helps you get those promotions. plus you got all the cool movies like Saving Private Ryan and Blackhawk down..so people will make movies about you now, where the female infantryman is the hero:rock:

like i said before...hollow victory

the door is open...and the marines already lost their only female candidates for their infantry officer's course

on one hand it's like..oh great..another exciting opportunity

on the other hand it's like...oh damn...shit i'm still a woman and the odds of me passing are still shit unless they gender norm

.... really? Didn't know that. Do you know why?

LMAO. Even my karate school when I was a kid had those push-ups for us and the regular one for guys.
I was sooo frriggin happy. :smt036

that's because you went to a 'karate' school

you need to start hanging out at the MMA gyms with those hardcore, 'Cyborg' joints

I'm all for equal opportunity they deserve the chance to prove themselves I just don't think the outcome will be what they think but I'm willing to admit I may be wrong. We will see.

Chris Cyborg and Gina Carano are frigging beasts but even they wouldn't hold a candle to elite fighters in their weight class. They could beat the piss out of me though

Why would they do that? We're all the same lol. I think that's an outdated practice though. I did krav maga for a few months and women were doing the same conditioning exercise as the guys. Only thing I hated was the sparring with women. One of the main reasons why I stopped going. Its good for the women to spar with men but the men get nothing out of it unless she's an elite fighter and for 250 bucks a month it sure wasn't worth it.

every time I sparred..i ended up sparring with a dude no matter how many women were in the class

coach says it's because of my build..but i just think he likes seeing me fight the 6'6, 300 ex-OL that hangs out there

:smt017

250/month is a lotta fucking money tho for training

at least with BJJ, there is a sport aspect so you get to learn how to fight and shit, but you also get to fight and shit...

it's not a complete waste of money..plus they're running a deal around here....i just gotta stop being cheap and roll up on it before i'm too old to fight

Mate, did you notice the word...KID? Karate is the McDonalds of MA styles. I've progressed to a more finite Art that I like to refer to as the finishing school of MA.

My ex-b/f took up mai tai boxing on the side and encouraged me to, which I passed on....I have been to full contact fights since I was 13 to watch them, but I have not tried MMA style only because the art I practice is so similar to the styles used in their cage fights. I do love watching them though. The blood doesn't faze me at all.

Ok wow, reading this, I realized the Military Channel did a reality-series on I think this very training course. It was so effing brutal, I was panting at their panting. NO WAY in hell could I, would I - the psychological toll alone on the participants was so fierce...many became delusional from exhaustion.
I think this is why I have a PROFOUND respect for our soldiers who make it to the front-line...they are effing amazing to have been able to graduate.

*Now I wonder if it's on YT (the series)...would love to see it again.

Fam its NY nough said. Plus it was the only Krav Maga spot in the area. I actually just sigbed up for aikido for three months. Ill be honest with you I feel like Im way too old to start up major grappling like that. I did judo for a year when I was 19 and that shit use to wear me the fuck out. Terrified of all the crazy injuries asdociated with bjj. Recovery in your 30s is triple the time it was in your teens

depends on your conditioning

took me about a solid week to recover from a torso injury i sustained from getting tossed around like a ragdoll

as long as you got FMLA time saved up and health insurance, you'll be ok

lol

some guys really roll like they're training for a fight (oh wait...they probably are), so someone is bound to get hurt eventually

i used to go to class and work hurt...you kinda push on through the pain like with any other sport

after a while tho...your body actually does toughen up hence the conditioning

shit that used to cause pain didnt cause it anymore cause my ass was getting numb

Ooops. LOL.

Funny I was listening to a female cadet being interviewed and she nervously said; normally we'd be "ra- ra!", but with this we are more like 'yay??" lol.

But ty for the YT tip, will search some out ~

Well you've been doing it for awhile, starting this late for me could be really bad. I don't mind other arts particularly striking arts like karate and kung fu but the worst pain I ever felt was being flipped on my back by some military dude taking the judo class for fun and I was hurt for a week. If that shit happened now I'd be out of commission for half the year probably lol

30 is the new 40

Or so they say

There is a very small minority of females out there in America that can handle the physical and mental duties of being a front line Infantryman in the ARMY/Marines.

I say if they can keep up with the men on their level without any special treatment (bathrooms excluded) then let them join.

My issue is how women can get thru the "Band of Brotherhood" mentallity that is high amongst Infantrymen.

There is a shitload of physical and mental hazing and initiations that goes with the Infantry that is illegal under military law, but the military turns a blind eye to it because top brass understand what the Infantry is and what they are about. The inititations are physically, somewhat sexual perverted, racist and sexist. There is nothing "politically correct" about Infantryman initiations.

The initiations get more severe the higher you go from basic Infantryman, to Airbourne/Air Assault, Ranger, Green Beret, Marine Recon, etc....

All it takes is one female who does not want to participate in the "hazing" and initiations to go crying to "60 minutes" or "Dateline" and getting on TV with a ball of tears about how she was mistreated.

This was the situation back in the 1980's during the infamous "Tailhook" incident with the Navy aviators. Those Aviators had been behaving and acting like that ever since the NAVY instituted airplanes into the force. A couple of female Aviators didnt like it and blew the whistle.

Lots of men are not prepared for it....but they keep their mouth closed about it. So you know females will have a problem with it...and blab it to the world.

Interesting POV.

I heard a Commander called in to a show and recite about a female soldier who was "built like a bulldog" on his squad, but that in cases of crisis, some of his men still instinctively went out of their way to protect only HER, even endangering their life and their fellow male soldiers. He wasn't happy about it.
