I tell my clients all the time that the law often times has nothing to do with justice. In this case, it's my understanding that even the prosecution admitted that due to the absolute lack of any compelling evidence, this was simply a he said/she said case. Very bitter pill for this young man to be forced to swallow that a jury could not find "reasonable doubt" in such a case. One does not want to discount the sworn testimony of two women, I understand that the accused admitted to being inebriated the night in question, I wonder if the accusers were drinking as well as that can lead to inaccurate memories. What is for sure, is that this a very big cautionary tale. As I have said before, I work with some pro athletes, I strongly advise them to NEVER put themselves in a situation where they can be accused of wrongdoing and not have a rock solid alibi.
that's good advice for anyone it's so easy to get popped on a rape/sex-related charge that you gotta be very careful he said/she said followed by jail time is bullshit id rather beat off
Tragic just tragic smh. If only young black athletes will learn from past stories and be a bit careful. College + black athlete + drunken girls= trouble. Unfortunately this is not the last.
People always tease me about my paranoia but shit like this makes me feel justified. Its twice as hard being a law abiding bm but with sexual offender conviction on your rap sheet you might as well move to Thailand. Fricking sad. Cautionary tale indeed Just like your parents taught you, dont hang with strangers
And even if hes actually guilty drunk groping shouldmt warrant 4 years of your life. Dudes who adsault people with weapons get less time. It wasnt like dude was a menance to the public welfare
this the punishment was on some real nutass shit people get less time for murder http://axisoflogic.com/artman/publish/Article_61605.shtml
Agreed. Now dragging a woman and putting a hand in a woman's panties is sexual assault, but I think counseling and maybe speaking to others...Especially if he was inebriated as Loki confirmed, he may not have even realized when he awoke. Not an excuse, but certainly not worthy of 4 years jail-time.
I guess this is the flip-side...as much as women have a conscious or subconscious fear of the possibility of being raped, men have the same fear of being accused of it.
um yeah, nice of u to realize that and as a bm, you have a fear of being accused of any fucking thing
basically i mean... where else can you get killed minding your own business after buying a pack of skittles and still be treated like a badguy smt017) instead of a victim? just when you thought you seen it all...:smt048
