I know. I usually listen on Saturdays when I'm running around doing errands. I think it's the relaxed nature of the programs that appeals to me. Oh, and I'd be honored to have Carl Kasell record the greeting for my voicemail.

You should break down and try it, it's always entertaining, though some shows are better than others.

As for NPR, the programming is pretty darn nice as far as I'm concerned. I enjoy the classical music during the day, in my market area. Then of course, all the others that people mentioned. You should check out some of the late afternoon and evening programming as well, they've podcasts also.

Have you listened to the program featuring the round table discussions of black journalists, or " The Story"?

 

I definitely give it a whirl. I saw the movie of the same name and it was entertaining. But I've always been more interested in the news, be it Morning Edition, All Things Considered, Marketplace...mainly because of the current events.

I enjoy the classical music on there as well, but I sort of "detached" myself from listening to it and mainly listen to the talking aspects. I'm sure I'm missing out a lot in the music area, but I need to be alert when I'm on the road.
