You're truly wrong, Ches, the grand jury report showed that. Paterno covered up child rape for more than a decade, and continued to work with the guy he knew did it. He isn't going down for the actions of Sandusky, he's going down for his own INACTION. Standing by for a decade and allowing this monster to continue to rape children, knowing the guy was involved in a children's organization, is even more heinous than abusing the children himself - at least the monster is mentally aberrant - Paterno does not have that excuse. He covered it up to protect his precious football program, and his salary and position. That's beyond disgusting, and he has not got a leg to stand on here. This isn't one tiny mistake, this is allowing rape to continue for more than ten years, on his watch, turning a blind eye to what was going on. It's evil, and if it destroys his reputation, he brought that on himself.

Sandusky wasn't kissing a coed in the corner. He was sodomizing ten year old boys, on Penn State property. ALL of the people who were aware should not only be fired, they should be charged. Paterno, btw is a MANDATORY reporter under Pennsylvania state law. That does not mean he has to tell a superior, he had an obligation to report this to law enforcement and/or DCS. He also had a moral responsibility to ensure that a thorough investigation was done, and Sandusky prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Instead he stood by, continuing to deal with Sandusky knowing what was going on.

As my son said, immediately after he'd beaten Sandusky to death with a golf club

I respect your opinion, Pixie, and I don't necessarily disagree with you. I am simply choosing not to engage in discussion about this any longer. From the responses I received, I was not able to clearly convey what I was feeling and thinking. And, in the grand scheme of things, it's not all that important to me (much less anyone else) whether I was understood or not.

Thank you for being respectful in your responses to my posts. I appreciate that. :)

Maybe we aren't being serious enough. Maybe we should get offended at every single post. I'll try it.

How date you choose not to Capitalize the "W" in "when" at the beginning of your first sentence. DAMNIT!!!

Tofu, my 13 yo cat is in the kitty hospital w renal failure - my other kitty, Misaki has been walking around all day, needy and looking around.. she is now sleeping on Tofus blanket - a place she neeeeeeever gets close to, ever. Who said cats are aloof and don't care - she is heartbroken that he is not here, so am I.

He was home yesterday while they waited for his blood test and she was grooming the heck out of him, she was so hovering over him and not leaving his side. He lost 6 lb in the last year.

Thanks wifey.....he is such a sweetheart - good thing is that the technicians at the vet have grown attached to him so I know he is getting excellent care - its costing me up the nose... They will keep him for two days and then we see how he is responding when back home. I do hope I get to share more time with him.......... Love you lots!!!!!!!!
