Pupil, You will be granted partial credit for showing your work.....however in your haste, your misread the question......It asked for present worth, not future worth........please try again........
Okay, so I DID misread it. The $500 is the annual amount. So the formula would have to be: And you get $3768.05
My Brother, You are a good sport and will make a sharp engineer...but here is what should have been presented: 8 500(P/A) = 500 x 7.536 = $3768.oo 12
I misread the first part of the question. The annual amount and read it wrong. Sorry about that. But I have provided the answer before your post. I think I can read into this more and learn the ways to build some investing.
I don't have my book nor calculator with me, so I had to improvise. Definitely helped that for the first part of the semester we did all this by hand. But now, we're using financial calculators. It's a love/hate story with technology. To be honest, I haven't really used anything other than a scientific calculator since my TI-83 was stolen from me years back. Besides, I'm use to the simple calculator methods. The worst thing that can happen in future generations...is the over-reliance of technology and not the tools they were born with.
“I find it sick that these grown, wealthy men who play basketball for a living are trying to trivialize the harsh realities of plantation life. Baller Life - the opportunity to go to college Plantation Life - beaten for having a book Baller Life- blowing out white lady backs in every city north and south Plantation Life - getting your head blown off for making eye contact with a white lady Baller Life - making white men wealthy and getting rich in the process Plantation Life - making white men wealthy and losing your family, being degraded, harmed and treated worse than animals Baller Life - living a free life off the backs of your ancestors Plantation Life - having your descendants show little appreciation for all of your sacrifices I don't see how you can equate the two!” what a quote, Bwhahahahahahahahahahaha
^What, no Skyrim tomorrow then?! :OOOO My name is about to expire and I don't know whether to change it or not, I'm kind of attached to it now.
The way Paterno, the administration, and (now) the students have conducted themselves is nothing short of shameful. Since when is the molestation of children a matter to be swept under the rug? It's like they're taking notes from the Catholic church.
I don't condone what happened or the way it seems to have been swept under the rug. But for many Pennsylvanians, JoePa has been an institution, as has Penn State itself. To take such a cavalier attitude towards both because of the transgressions of a few is insensitive. From what I understand, JoePa knew the least about the incidents, but he is the whipping boy now. All the good he did for the school is now tarnished by the actions of others who conducted themselves poorly, but because it was on his watch, he pays for it.
But isn't that the point? It's the bosses watch and he has to take responsibility for the actions of those under him. You can't just collect the bosses paycheck and not be the boss. And he knew so what can be his excuse? Sorry he has been there so long and then let go but his actions made that happen.
Well said, Saty. I agree that he definitely failed to fulfill his responsibilities as the boss in the situation. He has no excuse for knowing yet doing nothing about it. They didn't do him wrong at all by firing him. I don't feel sorry he was let go after being there so long, because the asshole did it to himself.
That's the problem when everyone isn't judged by the same standard, whether on issues of race, gender or issues of responsibility. You don't get a pass based on your status as a venerable figure. This same kind of obtuse logic was responsible for Oliver North getting a pass, Richard Nixon getting a pass, George Bush torture policies being ignored and uncounted numbers of the inappropriate application of preferences based on age, position, gender, class, wealth and race. It makes a mockery of the idea of accepting responsibility for your actions and devalues life for those who're affected by such attitudes and perspectives.
I think that it's more interesting that your Capital city is about to go bankrupt. What's up with you guys, lol?
