But note that traditionally, and in many cases still, the woman complaining is the one seen as the "potential problem" and fired. That's why we have sexual harassment laws in the first place.

As I said a few posts ago, the workplace isn't a night club, and it's not where you should be picking up dates anyway.

DK I hate to interrupt the love fest between Huntress & yourself, but scroll back a bit, I made some points that might relax the tension a bit.

Wow Trix you can't even say that it's wrong you have to counter with "well back in the day when women were the potential problem"
Get the fuck out of here and just call a spade a spade geesh.
It's like women aren't suppose to take responsibility for anything.
Admitting that some people of not many abuse the system with over sensitive claims like with most lawsuits is just too much huh :smt092

No, it happened in the Isaih Thomas case, which isn't "back in the day."

And if you do as I asked and scroll back, you'll see my response to sexual harassment is a bit different than you assume here.

You're right, FG! it's BRILLIANT! Gosh. Just think...rapes, murders, domestic violence, sexual harassment..all of it, done! Finished! Thanks to one word.

Damn, I wish I'd thought of that. You should patent it! ;)

    LOL. I love you, Pixie.

I'm fortunate to work in a female-centric company right now (which is not without its drawbacks), but I have experienced sexism in the workplace in jobs I've had in the past. Heck, when I was babysitting I experienced it. It's sad, really.

I won't deny that there are always people who try to take advantage of things...BUT, as I said... when you file sexual harassment, the burden of proof is on you to show the harassment, and the hostile work environment- beyond a shadow of a doubt. So, if someone wins, they win.

Yeah lol--it reminded me this one time when my cat (Cindy) was chasing after the red dot I've been waving on the floor at, finally I stopped waving it back and forth, and she was growling at it as if she was saying "UR MINE, BEEYATCH!!!" xD Good times with that kitteh. :3

For me, it came down to what I could handle with a quip and what was more serious. Getting touched inappropriately, having obscene phone calls from the boss - those are serious things.

Some boor making a remark to me is going to be put in his place instead of sued, because it's a LOT more fun to embarrass him publicly. But then, that's just how I roll

I remeber a while back you told SaintAugusta that she always made every thread about her self...you seem to not be able to tell when you do this.

lol.."pompus ass puppet"....you must be feeling threatened to be throwing out poorly spelled insults, DK. Rough day? ;)

What I'm telling you is the truth. You might not like it, because it challenges your image of males being a superior sex, and you don't like it when people question that- but the fact is, this is something that has been discussed, studied, and published as fact in scientific journals. You're free to do research- you do know how to do research, right?- so I suggest that before you go spouting off insults you educate yourself on what's really going on in the world.

I'm not reliving bad situations with anyone. I love how you always try to patronize me...like my having had some bad experiences equals anything I say being discredited. It's frankly pretty annoying, and I would appreciate it if you stopped.

I got my ass grabbed before and he almost didn't get fired because he tried to play the race card. But I think the 2 other BM working that night helped by being witnesses even though he made the comment to them that, "We brothers, we gotta stick together!"

Dude if I post studies that are better at sports that sexist but you telling me their are scientific studies that prove men are fill in the blank here that's some how valid. Ok got it. Women are victims and men oppress them daily.
You constantly assert that all men oppress women. Its a male problem we go out there and make life difficult for women. If we were as bad as you say life would be nothing but rape and beatings but its no where close to that. Most men in fact the vast majority of men are really good guys. All they want to do is take care of their families and be law abiding citizens.
Do me a favor give me an example of one society that treats women the way you believe that should be treated.

When ever I have worked with women...i have learned to avoid them ...if they have a problem...i play it off like I dont aee them...the less communication & contact is best for me...now on the streets in my personal life...my approach is much different.

Well, do what you gotta do. Not all women are like that, but I guess better safe than sorry.
