Uh if she's hot you better believe most men would take her on:cool:. Like I've said before on this forum, men don't give a fuck about how much a woman makes salary wise. We just don't care about that stuff.

    Say what?!?!?!

What a load of bullshit. In today's society, you have plenty of women over 40 getting loads of respect. We live in a culture that glorifies women over 40 (and refers to them as "cougars"). Plus there are hit shows like Sex & the City, all those Real Housewives shows etc etc that put older women in the spotlight.

Give it up fam. Women have it harder than men all the time. There's absolutely no part of life where it's adventageous to be a woman lol

For an evening, not for a life partner. Most of you *do* care, in my experience and that of other women I know.

It's much easier for me to give birth than for a man to pass a bowling ball out his ass.

Speaking as a man you're pretty much wrong. Men for the most part just don't care how much a woman makes and men are way more likely to date down than women do (in terms of salary)

Heck, Matt Damon married a freakin bartender for Chirsts sakes! And George Clooney has dated cocktail waitresses.

Those are just two examples of many.

My goodness, do you think real women want to be portrayed as cougars or the Real Housewives? I would fucking shoot mysely if I had a fucked up life like that! THAT is why people watch that shit......to make themselves feel better about their own lives.

I am swearing......clearly I have had too much Malbec

recent sociological studies will back up that claim as well

ur not just talking out of your ass with that one

even as the times changed and women gained more equalized footing with their male counterparts, they're still more likely to marry someone who's making more

Ummmmm that might be because women still get paid less then men do?

Not trying to pick a fight but that is a fact!

Of course but the point Iggy and Petty were making was that women care far more about what men make than men care about what women make. Even if a woman makes enough for two people she still wants a man who makes more than her. Women want to be impressed men want devotion from their woman.

In about a third of married couples, the woman earns more than the man, which is interesting because it flies in the face of what you're saying, and because women are still traditionally not paid as well as men

    http://www.bls.gov/opub/ted/2009/jan/wk1/art05.htm

Among all married-couple families in which the wife (but not necessarily the husband) had earnings from work in 2006, 33 percent of the wives earned more than their husbands. This is about a third higher than the 1987 figure of 24 percent.

    http://www.bls.gov/opub/ted/2009/jul/wk4/art05.htm

In 2008, women who were full-time wage and salary workers had median weekly earnings that were about 80 percent of the median for their male counterparts: median weekly wages were $638 for women, $798 for men. In 1979, the first year for which comparable earnings data are available, women earned about 62 percent as much as men.

A man can impress me with his mind, his heart, his soul, and his body. He cannot impress me with his wallet. I'm not a special snowflake, I think that's true of most women.

So, I'm philosophical tonight. I find it incredibly amusing that you guys argue with WOMEN about what WOMEN believe.

    not necessarily

women are constantly surpassing men in education and salary (of course they're not passing every man, but they're passing a helluva lot)....do some digging into the social sciences and you'll see this highlighted

the bottom line is that as women are turning the tide so to speak, they're less likely to go for a man that's not as successful as them academically and financially..whereas men still have no problem going for that waitress or secretary.

Of course! A lot of older woman think being called a cougar is a compliment. Don't act like its not.

And whats your opinion on Sex and the City? That is a glorified/popular show that follows around women over 40.

I think you're wrong that women over 40 get no respect. Its just not true.
