Actor Sam Jones III only agreed to take part in a dangerous drug deal to help a pal pay off a debt to a Mexican criminal cartel, according to court documents.
The former Smallville star has pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to supply drugs while involved with a narcotics ring, which saw a gang allegedly attempt to sell more than 10,000 oxycodone pills, a highly potent painkiller.
He is set to be sentenced on 22 June and is facing up to 20 years in jail, but in new court papers obtained by TMZ.com, the actor allegedly claims he felt compelled to take part in the drug operation to help his friend Tom Cataloni pay off a $90,000 (£56,000) debt to dealers.
In the document, Jones also insists he should be handed a reduced sentence as he only played a "minor role" in the gang's activities, the website reports. »
From what I remember reading he was facing 20 years if he had went to trial but pleaded guilty and is likely to get 5-10 years.I don't think he has much money,he hasn't had a good acting job in awhile and he had to take part in a drug deal just to get 90,000 .He might have made a few dollars off his sex tape but I doubt it was millions.I wish him the best

I think he had problems supporting the life financially.I agree he fucked it up but with no acting jobs,a beautiful playboy bunny on his arm and a hollywood lifestyle to support I'm not surprised he took the path he took

He should have gotten himself a regular job many actors come on hard times especially black ones.
You never know what will happen you got to just keep working hard but selling drugs is giving up in my opinion.
He should just forget about this chick she don't look like the type that's going to wait.
If she is not creeping on the side already the next few months of this dude in jail she will be going out clubbing trying to pick up a ball players or rappers hell she might even get herself a white guy this time.
