What... Theee... Fuck???:smt108:smt104
Hi guys and gals.
Rather than start a whole new thread on the same subject, I'll respond to this one.
There really is a substantial amount of anti-Black racism in the Jewish community. If anything, evidently it is more common among Jewish Whites than gentile Whites - including with regard to intermarriage and interbreeding with Blacks.
Despite frequent claims to being more open-minded than White gentiles, age-old anti-Black sentiment continues to be prevalent in the Jewish community. For example, upon reviewing General Social Survey data, Ta-Nehisi Coates writes in the Atlantic ('Some Clarification On The Black-Jewish Stats', 6/2/2009) that "79 percent of Jews 'strongly favor' or 'favor' marriage to other Jews. 72 percent 'strongly favor' or 'favor' marriage to generic whites. The number for generic blacks? 22 percent."
This has deep roots in traditional Jewish culture. The Jewish myth of the 'Curse of Ham' was used to defend Southern slavery. In the Biblical worldview, Hamites are Blacks and Blackness is considered a curse imposed by the tribal god of the Jews, Yahweh.
The Babylonian Talmud, Sanhedrin 108b states: "Our Rabbis taught: Three copulated in the ark, and they were all punished—the dog, the raven, and Ham. The dog was doomed to be tied, the raven expectorates [his seed into his mate's mouth], and Ham was smitten in his skin." {Talmud Bavli, Sanhedrin 108b}
The biggest problem though is that there's a huge taboo on any criticism of Jews - no matter how rational and supported. I've been banned from numerous forums for politely bringing up the subject of Jewish racism against Blacks or even the idea of interracial dating between Jewish women and Black men.
I am race aware which makes it easier for me to notice all these things, but I don't have a TRULY racist bone in my body. I embrace the scientific and empirical evidence of racial differences and still identify as a human being first. To me racial differences make interracial sex and relationships so much more exciting! I think taboos against sex with black people are stupid. Sex is fun and it doesn't have to lead to reproduction; these days, it's usually about recreation in the west. Still, I'd like to encourage more Jewish women to bear Black children which will help prove they're moving beyond any racism of their parents.
It's too bad that due to racism, so many Jewish women are missing out on the pleasures of interracial sex. Jews, however, are far more likely to be open-minded when it comes to White gentiles - rather than Jews - having sexual and marital relations with Blacks. I have to admit that this hypocrisy bothers me. A leading company with an emphasis on interracial pornography, called Dogfart Productions Inc., is owned by a Jew, Cable Rosenberg. This company is connected to Dogfart.com, blacksonblondessix.com and other porn sites with an emphasis on sex between Black men and White women (blondes, gentiles).
When 34-year-old Cable Rosenberg's 13,500-square-foot Tudor style mansion was profiled this year, thousands of viewers clicked on an online slideshow, hoping to catch a glimpse inside one of the most expensive homes in the Southeast Valley.
At the time, Rosenberg's family said he made his fortune through a finance company and used-car dealerships.
But as the eight-bedroom, $12 million Chandler home prepares to close escrow, a review of state and federal records shows that Rosenberg's wealth likely came from a more lucrative line of work - Internet pornography...
Arizona Corporation Commission records show that Rosenberg owns a company called Dogfart Productions Inc. That company is connected to Dogfart.com and six related porn sites. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office says Rosenberg, at the address of the Chandler mansion, owns the federal trademarks for both "Dogfart" and "Blacksonblondes." (Chandler mansion connected to porn.)
Likewise, there was once a Yahoo! Group entitled "Mothers Who Want Their Daughters Bred Black," which was evidently run by a Jew.
Anyway, that was fine, but I also want to set up a "Jewish Women Who Breed Black" club. What could be more beautiful than Jewish women showing off their Black babies?
If we're going to oppose White racism, why should the most powerful, wealthy, and elite Whites - Jewish Whites - be held to a totally different standard? That just doesn't sit well with me.
They like the asians love the idea of preserving the race unless it means marrying white then its cool to step outside the culture.
The rich no matter what color or creed are held to a different standard. Ask the Lybians.
what do you think about that subject?
I'm all for perserving the human race but perserving ethnicities for the sake of vanity which is what most of these people tend to do is childish. The idea that your customs and traditions won't be preserved because your descedants don't look like you is ridiculous.
Its an illustration of how petty and idiotic some people are. The more genetix diversity the better for our species. Life tends to pick the best of both ethnicities when people have offspring ie children who are half black and asian tend to not have sickle cell or be lactose intolerant which are diseases know to both races seperately.
very true, i also heard many years ago racial purity was practised and children didnt make it past infancy due to genetic diseases or something, i do find it very weird when people go on like theyd die to preserve their colour of skin, its a tad bit obsessive
Hummm, that's pretty "interesting" considering the role of Jewish people in black causes. In fact, it's known that Jews have long identified with the struggles of Blacks based on their own historical persecution. Jews have been denigrated in the South and other areas, and are often mentioned in the same breath as being equally hated, and therefore sharing a common bond of prejudice.
The first black president of the NAACP and some of the founding members were Jews. Jews were disproportionately involved in the early voting rights, lunch counter sit-ins and died also during those times of involvement. Many of the early record companies were started by Jews because they enjoyed black music, r &b, jazz and blues. Jews have been married to many well known blacks and athletes.
I personally have not witnessed any real prejudice against black men. I have known black men who dated Jewish teachers, doctors and one even offered to be a surrogate mother for a man that met. So, go figure...
Thank you for this. As a Jewish woman, it's nice to see people who have positive views/outlooks on us.
This is about to sound ignorant, but I'll have a BMs baby...smh

IB be real babygirl. You grew up in NY too (Jew Haven) and you have to admit you're a rarity my friend.

I don't agree that NY is a Jewish Haven anymore than it is PR/Dominican/West Indian/Chinese etc. I was raised more in LA than NY, but regardless, yes, I may be a rarity, but not all Jewish women are monolithic. I meet a lot of Jews who I differ from ethnically, but we're all still Jewish, but different. Jewish is a religion, yes, but it's also culture and because we're becoming somewhat extinct, you're taught to keep it Jewish. Being that I'm a woman and my child will be Jewish regardless under Jewish law, I'm not a religious person, so it's not about teaching them the Torah and all the traditions, although the latter comes with the culture, so that'll be a given, but it's about keeping a sense of unity. That's all that is.
I grew up in Westchester and most of the white people are either Jewish Italian or Irish and the jews seem to be the only ones gung ho about jews marrying jews. Yeah I know individually everyone is different but culturally there's a different story.
because Im coverting to judiasm and live in the south it would be hard to find a ww jew that would date a bro
Interesting.

You are welcome. For me, it's really about offering alternate viewpoints to fight against any misconceptions and erroneous stereotype of people.

I certainly agree with you. People are far too different to be thought of in very measured and narrow ways. Whenever you try to assume anything about any group of people, you always get surprised.
Talk about diversity of thought, Orthodox, Reform and Messianic. Now, there's some real different viewpoints. I think that many Americans view religion and culture as being more integrated than is actually the case with some religions, like Judaism and Islam. In those cases, as you suggested, there is very much a separate cultural aspect apart from the religion.
I think that many people don't understand the impact of the assimilation of Jewish people, and the fight to maintain the culture. It's no different than the effort of many Black people to attempt to recapture a lost African culture. Unfortunately, we have never known our original religion and culture and it's lost to us. Some would argue that this has resulted in Black Americans feeling disjointed, without a sense of origin.
In my city of NY, many yiddishe mamas have been with BM. More common th
an you think.

Brooklyn Babylon looks at the complexities of a relationship between two people from completely different worlds. Solomon (Tariq Trotter) is black. He's an MC. His hip-hop group is trying to succeed while remaining independent. His spiritual background is Rastafarian. Sarah (Karen Goberman) is white. She comes from a Hasidic Jewish background. Her family is very traditional; dogmatic; deeply religious. Yet Sol and Sarah share an obstinate love and compassion for one another.
The film begins by going back and forth between each character, highlighting some cultural differences: Sol and his group (The Roots) practicing, Sarah at a traditional Jewish wedding. Sol and Sarah's worlds collide at an intersection dividing the Jewish and black communities in Brooklyn when their cars crash. She is driving home from the wedding with her fiancé-whom she doesn't love-and a few other young men. Sol is driving home with his manager, a long-time friend. And while Sol's manager and Sarah's fiancé curse at one another-Sol's manager tells the Jews they are on the wrong side of the dividing line-Sarah and Sol share an enchanting moment; their attraction to one another seems apparent.
Sol and Sarah again cross paths not long after this incident in a beautiful garden that joins their respective neighborhoods. They share a mutual allure that is evident in the way they look at and talk to each other. But Sarah is scared of what may happen if the two are seen together because of the existing prejudices amongst the blacks and Jews in Brooklyn. Her fear intensifies when her fiancé's car is bombed: she thinks Sol and his manager are involved until she confronts Sol about the occurrence and sees that he is genuinely hurt that she would suspect him.
The car bombing exacerbates the already shaky relationship between the neighboring blacks and Jews; however, Sol and Sarah continue to pursue their interest in one another amidst the turmoil. "I know you," he says to her during an early conversation, pointing out a mystical connection between the two. And as their relationship grows, the conflict between the blacks and Jews grows also.
One interesting aspect of the film is how the elders of each religion respond to Sol and Sarah's relationship, and interracial relationships in general. During a family dinner Sarah asks her father why they never have anyone other than Jews in their home if their mandate is to love their neighbors. Her father can't come up with a sufficient reason. In contrast, when Sol discusses the subject with the Rastafarian elders they are much more accepting: love is love; they explain that race doesn't matter.
Some viewers might argue that the film is somewhat anti-Semitic, but Brooklyn Babylon takes the same approach as Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing by showing each race involved in the film's various conflicts as equally flawed. Both the blacks and Jews caught up in the ongoing struggles are shown as equally narrow-minded and intolerant. Neither race is favored over the other.
The film's premise is that love can overcome adversity, no matter how tremendous. And while this theme may seem cliché, or overdone, screenwriter Marc Levin (Slam) presents this story creatively; Brooklyn Babylon has an original, mystical feel and spiritual ambiance to it. The theme is brought to life through creative narration and biblical allusions. And first timer Tariq Trotter, hip-hop MC Black Thought of The Roots, seems very natural in his role as the film's protagonist. His first few exchanges with Sarah have that awkward, exciting feel of a budding relationship.
Another interesting characteristic of the film is Sol's devotion to his art form. When his manager presents him with a contract, which includes a large signing bonus, Sol turns it down, deciding instead to maintain creative control of his music. He refuses to compromise, just as he refuses to compromise his faith and love for Sarah.
My second girlfriend ever was Jewish. Her family were from the more secular/intellectual/liberal mold, though. Interestingly enough, as she got older she got more 'serious' about discovering her 'inner Jew' as she put it, and ended up as a housewife in an unhappy marriage (according to her sister) with an orthodox guy who is domineering and controls everything, including her skirt length.
