I'll jump in if you all incorporate Super Smash Bros. and Marvel vs. Capcom series. Oh and BlazeBlue too for added effect.
Actually, here is something to consider...it's the nostalgic vs. modernity argument regarding the likes of Street Fighter. Now recently, with Street Fighter IV, the series is modern in technology, but a throwback of sorts of what we as older gamers grew up with. But between those, we've seen some dramatic changes. So, I ask of you, what are your thoughts on the changes since then? And this can also apply to the likes of Mortal Kombat series.
In gerenral I like fighting games overall and so the updated tech and graphics applied to the older games such and Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat are a great thing. Only thing in the negative I have to say in regards to Street Fighter would be update the character designs and give them a more "realistic " feel for one game in the series only just to see how it goes over. If anything they can do a Classic Street Fighter vs this "realistic" Street Fighter series. But that's just me here.
The last time they did something like that would be the Street Fighter: The Movie which came to Arcades and Sega Saturn in the mid 90s. They tried to capitalize on the Mortal Kombat franchise somewhat, but keep within the classic gameplay. The character designs are by far not so realistic. With bigger capacity to push out more polygons, the more intricate and detailed the characters are with fluidity and what have you. I like the way how the games play, notably in Street Fighter. I assume you're probably thinking about Dead or Alive series or Soul Calibur games?
Yeah, if they push the Street Fighter design and gameplay to the level of those games that would be great. But I also realize they probably won't do it due to the nostalgia factor involved with Street Fighter and the game makers wanting to preserve that.
If they were to do something like that, the Street Fighter series would lose a great deal of appeal. The fact that it's one of the remaining 2D fighting games, and probably the last of its kind that survived for this long would be a buzz kill. It just won't work as well as it does in 2D format.

New Thundercats Animated Series? Warner Bros. Animation is teaming with the Japanese animation house behind Batman: Gotham Knights and The Animatrix to dust off ol' Lion-O and his refugee clan from Thundera for a new Cartoon Network series. This new Thundercats will have a decidedly anime flair, given that it's being coproduced by Japan's Studio4ºC, the animation house behind Halo Legends and the Oscar-nominated feature, Tekkonkinkreet. Here's the official press release: Warner Bros. Animation (WBA) has begun production on ThunderCats, an all-new animated series for Cartoon Network, based upon the iconic 1980s action classic. ThunderCats is the newest series from WBA, joining Batman: The Brave and the Bold, which was recently renewed for a third season, and the following forthcoming programs: The Looney Tunes Show, MAD, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated and Young Justice. The announcement was made today by Sam Register, Executive Vice President, Creative Affairs, Warner Bros. Animation. "In addition to being Warner Bros. Animation's first anime series, ThunderCats marks our most ambitious foray yet into fantasy," said Register. "The realism and dynamic visual style we've achieved are sure to thrill viewers, and the cool weapons, vehicles and technology should help the show appeal to a diverse audience." The 21st century reimagining of the series marks a creative collaboration between WBA and Studio4°C, one of the most vibrant animation studios in Japan, with credits including The Animatrix, Gotham Knights and Halo Legends. WBA is working closely with Studio4°C, utilizing the latter's expertise to give the ThunderCats characters a new cutting-edge look while remaining true to the compelling storylines and mythology of the original series. "We at Studio4°C are excited to be in this creative partnership with Warner Bros. Animation to bring ThunderCats to life," said Eiko Tanaka, President and CEO, Studio4°C. "This collaboration combines the strengths of our two companies — high production values and great storytelling — toward reintroducing this classic fan-favorite to a new audience." Roaring to life through WBA and Studio4°C's use of the Japanese animated artistry of anime, ThunderCats characters Lion-O, Mumm-Ra, Panthro, Cheetara and others will spring off the screen with realistic cat-like characteristics inconceivable in previous incarnations. The new ThunderCats will appeal to viewers who have loved the characters all their lives as well as young newcomers to the franchise. A sweeping tale combining swords and science and boasting ferocious battles with the highest of stakes, the grand origin story of Prince Lion-O's ascension to the throne – and of those who would thwart his destiny at any cost — takes on epic dimensions in this sharp new telling. As the forces of good and evil battle each other in the quest for the fabled Stones of Power, Lion-O and his champions learn valuable lessons of loyalty, honor and mortality in every episode. ThunderCats is executive produced by Sam Register (Teen Titans, Ben 10, Batman: The Brave and the Bold). Michael Jelenic (Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Wonder Woman) and Ethan Spaulding (Avatar: The Last Airbender) are the producers. Straight out the gate, I'm not feeling the new design of Panthro.
Sony shares PS3 master key via Twitter Kevin Butler, a fictional character created for a Sony Computer Entertainment America advertising campaign and played by actor Jerry Lambert in the company's commercials, has the gift of the gab and is always up for a quick joke. However, when Twitter user exiva sent him the cryptic message "46 DC [string shortened] B2 C2 Come at me, @TheKevinButler", he obviously didn't realise that the string of hexadecimal codes was, in fact, the Playstation 3 "HMAC Dongle Master Key" which hackers have long used to jailbreak PS3 devices. He promptly retweeted the message, complete with the full security key, to his over 70,000 followers, commenting "Lemme guess... you sank my Battleship?" Little did he seem to realise that the perceived battleship was actually the PS3, and that the quoted character string did not represent some coordinates in the "Battleship" game. While the tweet has since been deleted, it has been documented by services such as Twitpic. The Kevin Butler Twitter account is operated by Los Angeles-based advertising agency, Deutsch, who devised the character for Sony's advertising campaign. Sony Computer Entertainment America is currently suing George Hotz and other hackers at the District Court for the Northern District of California in San Francisco for alleged violations of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA). Among other things, Hotz has been accused of using Twitter and similar services to share hacking instructions. Hotz has since been subject to a temporary injunction that forbids him to share information about potential ways of attacking the PS3 security system. http://www.h-online.com/security/news/item/Sony-shares-PS3-master-key-via-Twitter-1186834.html
