It is sad Hollywood is running out of ideas. I hope they could find the old pilots of tv shows of the past. Oh yes, they still have not get good IR scenes. In my dreams I hope on Hancock II he would get those WW.

I want the people in Hollywood to stop twiddling their thumbs and put out Underworld 4 and The Hobbit.

That was the most racist movie since Birth of a Nation.

Not if you're white its not. But I think most people missed that though.

Whatever. Yes, white people can't see symbolism and have empathy for things they never experienced.

That movie was telling a story about apartheid in a very creative and brilliant way. I loved it and thought it was genius.

Those that missed it have a sad world view.

    Oh yeah?

    Then why make Nigerians CANNIBALS?????

That doesn't speak against aparthied in any way...it just feeds a racist stereotype.

    Talk about symbolism.

What if that ship stalled over Isreal and the Cannibals were Palestinians?????????

    I bet you'd see the racism then....hmmmm

You have to be pretty dense to not see the CLEAR racism in the movie. I think that was the whole point of the movie. To show that and apart from wanting it to be entertaining,nI think it was meant to make people think.
But , no - "white people" arent that stupid bro, c'mon. Its very evident. and I think the vast majority of white people get it, cept the small fraction of stupid white people and I question if those types ever saw the movie. The message is clear.
I think the VAST majority of watchers are rooting for the aliens and not w the white people flushing them out and treating them like dirt. If you were not rooting for the aliens, you probably belong on racist site anyhow.

I didn't like it either and my husband thought it was "stupid" (his exact word). I'm not sure what all the fuss was about really. The CGI was good though. The aliens looked weird and wonderful.

I'm just tired of all the "creative" ways they show people of African decent in need of saving. It's like here's another movie where once again white people are the opressors and the aliens aka the blacks are getting the shit kicked out of them. Like I said earlier with no disrespect to you or any of the ladies on here, there are gonna be times where we're gonna feel it a little bit more.

Still doesnt mean white people dont understand its racist.
Like I said, only extremely dense people dont get that.

And no, I dont like the movie either.

Btw, thinking that the aliens somehow were covertly meant to be blacks reflects more you than the movie. That is a stretch.

You have been very negative lately. Whats up? Everything ok?

Let's see the aliens were worker/laborers whose masters died. With no one to tell them what to do, they were shiftless and lazy and came to live in a makeshift ghetto.

    Hmmm

Oh, please. You can find correlates to anything if you want to. If you really are looking for something, you will find it.

There are many cases where you have covert messages such as of what you speak. I honestly think accusing this movie of that is offensive.

Sometimes and apple is just that, an apple. Some people just really try to hard to find shit.

everyone knows the aliens in district 9 were meant to reflect blacks

just like the blue people in Avatar, were meant to reflect the native civilizations that were destroyed and robbed at the hands of the all-powerful white man. Don't even get me started on the love affair between one of the invaders and the dumb native girl. That movie was like Pocahontas for the future.

I've got to agree with Karma and Petty. It is pretty obvious (with avatar too). And the whole avatar thing...I liked that movie, but didn't love it. It's way overrated and that story has been done to death.
