I submitted my application to the Electronic Diversity Visa Lottery the other day... US green card, here I come!
I just wanted to drop by and give an update on my dad. A few weeks ago, he started coughing up blood again. The mass in his lung had started to bleed. After several tests, it was decided that his lung needed to be removed. We found out that the mass was cancer and that some cancer cells were found in a lymph node and in some fluid in the lung cavity. We've been told that without chemo that he probably only has 3 to 4 months to live. With chemo, he may have two years if the cancer responds to the chemo. Right now, we are just focusing on recovery. Hopefully, it will only take about a month for the body to adjust to just having one lung and for the pain to subside. If Dad decides to do chemo, he will start in the middle of December. If all goes as planned, he will get to come home from the hospital today. I hope that everyone is doing well, and I hope to be around posting more in the future. Take care, everyone.
GG I will be praying things go well for you dad. I have been thinking of you. And of course missing you around here.
Thanks, JC and Whikle. I'm a major Daddy's girl so all this has been hard news to hear, but we are staying positive. My dad has beat the odds before, and I know that he can do it again.
GG, I was thinking about you a lot the other day. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that everything works out for you. Thank you for the update. I'm sure it's not easy coming on here when all of that is going on in your life right now. I appreciate you taking the time to keep us all informed. You have a lot of friends on here who are sending positive thoughts your way.
I agree 100%. I think that attitude is at least 50% of the battle if not more. Love the new avi by the way!!! Thanks, Bookie. I'm normally lurking even if I'm not posting. I hate posting with my blackberry, and I just really haven't had the time or the energy to post. You know how it is. You go to post one thing, and the next thing you know, it is two hours later. The board is addictive when you are actively participating. I know that my wwbm family is sending lots of love and good energy my way, and I appreciate every bit of it. :smt023 Thank you, Tam. We appreciate it more than you can will ever know. :smt058
oh gg...i'm so sorry to hear this. all my love, prayers, hopes & positivity to you & your family...huge kisses and cuddles xxxx
Current... I'm just working on some Dynamics and Mechanics of Materials work and research, while chatting on here and listening to a song from YouTube.
You're in my prayers and thoughts today, my dear. Having go through to do chemo, that's no fun. Be strong, my dear. Be strong for your father no matter what. Hopefully your father will be strong enough to defeat cancer.
I LOVE your new avi!! and good luck girl!!! Thanks for the comment btw and Books, thank you too!!! XOX
First stop, Northern Cali. Sorry to hear about the GG. It sucks hearing that a family member has a certain amount of time to live.
