I just wanted to let everyone that's interested know that my dad received a good doctor's report a couple of weeks ago. His doctors decided that it would be a good idea to get a radiation oncologist's opinion. When we met with him, he told us that the mass in his lung had shrunk slightly and appeared less dense since his first tests back in June. Since dad hadn't gone through any cancer treatments yet, the doctor didn't think that the entire mass was cancerous. He feels that it is the same fungus that they found in his right lung when they did surgery back in July. As of now, the cancer doctors are out of the picture. Dad will continue taking his anti-fungal medication for about 5 more weeks. Then, he will have surgery to remove the remaining mass so that it can be analyized to determine if radiation or chemo is necessary. We still have a way to go to get Dad back on his feet, but this is the best news that we have received since this all began back in May.

I want to thank all of you that have sent prayers, positive energy, warm thoughts and kind words my way. You don't know how much I appreciate it. It's not something that I will forget anytime soon. :smt058

Good shit, GG. Glad things are looking up.

Once again, I'm touched by all of your caring and compassion. Thanks Bookie, Smooth, Tarshi, Anten, FG, Whikle, and BA. I couldn't have ended up on a better forum. :smt023

You are very welcomed. Also, I can't help but say that you seem like a very real person...

Thank you. That is very sweet of you to say. I like to think that the person you see on the boards is the same person that you would see in real life. I only know how to be me. ;)

I had to go to HQ today to perform an ISO Internal Audit. I got to see my old bowling crush. *swoon*

He's sooooo cute!! :smt023

Having already experienced the gas chamber in U.S. Navy Bootcamp, let me give you a few pointers:

1. Your gas mask has a limited time duration before it gets completely saturated.

2. calm down - way down and try to breathe "shallow" or "light". Try not to take such full breaths.

3. If they make you do push ups or jumping jacks, try to remain calm. Remember: "DON'T PANIC!" (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy)

4. Breathe steady

5. Good Luck!

I hate myself for liking a Wakka Flocka Flame song. It's like when I secretly liked an OJ Da Juiceman song. God damn catchy, shitty music.

I've been guilty of liking that "I Be Hustlin/Trappin/Workin" song by OJ, but because I think the beat is funny. My cousin and I always find songs with beats that make us laugh, like the horn section in that track. Nobody gets the joke but us.

If a random person asks to be "friends" with you on FB, and their first couple of messages give you a sketchy vibe about them, are you required to explain the "defriending" that immediately followed those messages?

BA: basic training sucks, but once your are through all that jazz and are training/working in your trade, it can actually be interesting and enjoyable (at times).
