Has nothing to do with the coast you're from.

Jay-Z is one of the greatest to ever do it.

If you follow the music and the culture, you would understand that.

    Look I'm a New Yorker

Most people here know Jay-Z is slippin, he should've retired.

Nas on the other hand, can keep going. It seems his lyricism and support will never fade.

Never really had to worry about most of my favorite rappers needing to retire, since they fell off long ago, but there are a few I think that need to give up, because they lost it.

Cube is one. Not really liking his new shit. Lyrically, he's not bad, but he's just dull. I was looking forward to Raw Footage, after I heard "Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It", but then I heard that bullshit Locs track with Jeezy and I said fuck it. Plus, his other random features haven't impressed me. At least WC and Paris can still go hard. Those are the only old school rappers whose new music I like, especially Paris.

On another note, I'm not saying Dre needs to give up, but that new track Dre did with Jay-Z was disgustingly shitty. 11 years of waiting and this is what I get to hear, a trash ass beat? Mediocre lyrics, especially Dre's verse. I know they can do better.

My anticipation for Detox just went WAY the fuck down. God dammit.

Yeah, I know the ones I can associate with certain people, places, and things. I won't even say how long it took me to realize that Washington and Washington DC weren't the same place. But I will say that, not until I posted that picture earlier, did I know Idaho was shaped like that. :smt107

LOL... I never met anybody from Idaho.
When I meet a guy I'm really interested in and he is not from Italy (which is always, lol) I surf on the internet or check the encyclopedia to get more infos. My ex was from Washington state and I surfed untill I knew everything about that damn place. (I removed everything after we broke up) LOL

You're buggin if anyone needs to retire its Nas. He's completely out of touch. If you ever hear anyone dissin Jay from NY its because NY is a hater state when it comes to rap. There are barely any fans here just a whole bunch of dudes trying to get signed. Nas is in my top five no doubt but to me if you can't maintain your credibility and be some what commercially successful you've failed. Even Jay's commercial joints have a deepness to it now. Its not a bunch of thrown together punchlines with a catchy hook. Listen to Blueprint 3 sir.

At least somebody gets it. That's why I rarely ever listen to women when it comes to hip hop. They have no clue what they're talking about. With exception of IB on this site of course.

I think every state is a hater state on the east and west. I almost never hear the south talking shit. They're too busy uniting and dropping mad mixtapes, puttin' in work. Damn shame. But Cali rappers do have strong support from other Cali folk. Don't know what's up with NY folk. Are there even any close-knit circles in the NY rap scene? Seems like they on some "every-man-for-himself" type shit.
