Some people leave some pretty confusing rep comments. Or maybe I'm not putting two & two together from some exchange or inside piece of info, but I am really good at reading between the lines. Therefore, I'm inclined to say it's just down right confusing soemtimes.

I can appreciate that. I personally leave really plain rep messages, or at least I think I do. But I've received some that made me wonder what the hell someone was trying to convey, and then some that I knew what they were trying to convey but I really didn't feel it appropriate for them to say anything to me. Some people use rep for what it is, a way to comment directly to someone on their posts or convey feelings about the poster, others use it as a tool to be nasty, play games, or make anonymous comments that they just wouldn't have the guts to own up to. It's sad that there are adults that stoop to those childish levels, but it happens.

fresh you are kinda cute when you are confused so just roll with it...maybe it's a puzzle and after hitting 21 more people another piece to the puzzle will come your way:smt079

I sense your dislike of "annon. rep." You are so funny, one second you sound kinda scathing, then the next, "it's whatever"/"It happens." lol Cool under fire.

lippy doesn't play that game...send to x number of people and all your wishes will come true...lol...i get some signed rep and some unsigned...i have received positive and negative...i can usually tell who it is from...it's fun and flirty nothing more nothing less...many times it becomes like private messaging...we used to be able to get in chat and message each other in private until things got a little crazy around here...now i think that alot of people (well, the smart ones) take their private conversations off the forum the others like to make the rest of us throw up with their childish behavior...it is one thing to have a back/forth getting to know each other on the forum...when it is clear that two people have already connected outside the forum at that point is there really a need to let us know your every move...let us know when you are going to actually meet...move in together or get married...

disclaimer: TS & GG strawberry themed love affair is quite juicy!

GG & TS are the forum's token lovers that we love to share...

You still have Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Common, etc

The industry still has meaningful music

That's like saying there are 50 shitty cars in a lot, but there is still a Lambo and a Porsche in the group. A handful of MCs can't counter the flood of trash we get on the radio. To find good music, the radio needs to be turned off. It's better to dig for the music that good.

True, but these guys are simply not having the same impact on listeners that the so-called "conscious" cats are. I mean, I enjoy listening to Immortal Technique, Talib, Lupe, The Roots and these other brothers, but the message they have is simply not permeating through society the way these coons like Soulja Boy, Roscoe Dash, Lil Wayne and others are. Most people think that these buffoons represent what hip hop really is and are authentic.

That is the problem. They are supposedly "what's hot" and are marketed as such.

First off, what is the story behind your avater. Secondly, I have barely heard of any of the people you mention. Lastly, we need to create a pop rap genre so that we can put soulja boy and lil wayne and all their friends in.

The guy in my avatar is Chipper Jones, he's one of my favorite ballplayers in baseball and he's a cool cat. I dated one of his cousins and have met him, great guy. Secondly, have you not heard of Immortal Technique, Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, The Roots? Either you're not an aficionado of hip hop, or you're pretending not to know them. I suggest you do a wikipedia search of these individuals. Thirdly, creating such a genre is a bit redundant given that these fools are the only ones who get airplay anyway.

I have heard of lupe and roots but not the other guys. I have never heard of Roscoe Dash. I have never heard of a song by soulja boy. I just know him by mouth. I am not a fan of lil wayne.

Technique is damn near as well known as Talib and company. First time I've heard of somebody know who the roots and Talib are, but not Immortal Technique. He is the definition of independent hip-hop.

agreed. immortal technique is far from an unknown independent. obviously this cat hasn't looked up independent artists within the last 5 years. step ya lame up, homie... new is old in 2 days like your local wonderbread shop. AND... if you are truly independent and on your grind, guess what you turn into?!

uh huh... i'mma let the haters think on that for a minute or two...

btw... fuck immortal tech, listen to some Jay Electronica.

oh, one more thing... i love this MF Doom short song...

I find this disturbing, you can't be a hip hop head and a.) only heard of The Roots (by the way, check out the. New album, nice.), and Lupe. B.). You never heard of IT, are you hiding under rocks Arc? The next thing you'll be telling us is that you don't know who Ganagstarr or Blackmoon was lol
