The Footwear Appreciation Thread

Pretty much what I thought.. as this house is from the 50s -I though I better leave that one alone. I will use my second bathroom as my learning ground since I will tile the kitchen as well. Me and my mom put in hardwood floors in her house two summers ago and it was surprisingly easy, quite fun acctually. We did refinish the original log walls in her livingroom - eh, let me rephrase that - I did! My mom gave up cuz it wasnt fun whatsoever... Same when she was here and I pulled out the carpet - she refused (wise woman
LOL so I had to do it all on my own... I thought I would come down with some creepy diesease!

Damn I've been doing it wrong then cause I'm not sure it's ever fun, it's rewarding and I get a great sense of accomplishment when I view the finished result, but I'm not usually thinking 'wow that was a blast, can't wait to do it again!'. I will say that I generally prefer to do it alone, it just goes faster without anyone else in the way, or trying to give input on something they clearly don't understand in the first place. However my son and daughter have gotten really adept at helping, and she's really good with tile. I take the time to actually explain to her since I think it's a good idea for a woman to be as self-sufficient as possible, you never know when that will come in handy. Maybe we should pay you a visit, I'll bet the 3 of us could knock out your kitchen in less than a day.

 

I knoooowww I hate some of this stuff, but like you said - its very rewarding! I agree w you, I prefer to do it alone, I am a perfectionist when it comes to these things,
I am also a slavedriver according to my mother. I dont take brakes until there is a logic place to do so in the project. I despise loitering when Im doing a project - work or get out HAHA. Im like the energizer bunny, I just keep going. and I always make it very long days.
So it truly is better I do it on my own..saves everybody a headache LOL.

I would love for you and your daughter to stop by.. you could be my boss tiling the kitchen I promisse to not crack the whip

simple understated elegance...i also like the way they fit your feet in the toe area...you picked a shoe that has a similar form to how your toes do that "do re me" thing...lol

Several different brands FG, my daughter bought them so I'll have to check with her. I'll let you know.

The stockings helped. lol I adore both shoes and stockings, though the latter are a tad too large. I'm lucky they had the sticky strip thing on the inside of the lace to hold them up! lol

That picture is awesome with the angle and all! Did you take that? You realy should concentrate on photography! You are good at everything art-wise, but you really have an eye for photography.

I like the shoes a lot and look very good on your feet and also like the pose and how you took the pic showing you have very nice legs and feet and the shoes you wearing how good look on you.

Now i want new shoes lol... but i wont be going much out this past few months so i have to wait.... its silly spend a lot and not wear them.. but later a lot will go half price this way i can get more

Yup. I'm kinda picky about pictures of myself and I never like shots other people take of me so I do my own pics. It's less
annoying that way and saves me the awkward moment when I have to lie to bad photographers lol. I just don't photograph well, and only really good photographers can actually find my sweet angles.

When I get monies I'm gonna get a good camera so I can do freelance work. I don't actually own a camera yet so that stifles my
options lol. I just borrow one from a friend when I do shoots and use my nate's phone for candid shots.

Haha is it obvious those shoes make me feel
sexy? This is like the only really sexy shot I've ever
taken of myself. I'm so much better behind the camera

 

Depending on the shoe anywhere between an 8 and a 10. 10s tend to be too long but some fit well. The ones pictured are 8 1/2.

I'm equally picky about photos of myself, I pretty much hate all of them. I swear if I take 20, I might get 1 that's tolerable. It's such an ordeal, it's almost painful, and I really don't like to share. Anyone who gets a pic of something other than my feet, knows they're pretty damn special, cause I'm stingy as hell.

Girl, do what I do when it comes to buying shoes. Hit up thrift stores, outlet stores, and clearance sections of stores. Those shoes were 17.99 at Ross. I LOVE that store!

 

Most of mine are 8, though I have quite a few 8 1/2 in pumps since they tend to run narrow in the toe box. I'll bet I have some that would fit you, and I'll keep that in mind the next time I purge my closet.
