Alright, there is a lot of buzz about the Iron Man squeal coming out this summer as well as some future Superhero movies. Just wondering, who are your favorite superheroes? If you don't like any that already exist, what kind of superhero would you like to see? Are you looking forward to any of the new movies that will be coming out? I must say that Spider-Man is in my favorite superhero, seems like one of the more relatable heroes out there, at least according to the movies. Dislike the fact that they are doing a total reboot of the movies, but I will give it a chance whenever the first one comes out. Far as what heroes I would like see, I would say in general I would like to see more movie adaptation of black superheroes. I think if someone applied the same standards of the Iron Man movie with a black superhero, then it would turn out to be pretty good, even for heroes that don't have a very big mainstream audience. I would like to see a Luke Cage or Black Panther movie. I'd even settle to see a good Teen Titans movie with a well-cast Cyborg. I hear Idris Alba is set to play a norseman in the upcoming Thor movie in the next year or so, directed by Kenneth Brennaugh, good director and actor, not sure if he was in charge of casting of his version of 'Much Ado About Nothing' but in his Denzel Washington was one of the lead characters. Anyway, tell me what you guys think!
Boy did you appeal to the nerd in me my friend lol. I gotta say my favorite superhero has to be Goku from the Dragonball Z series. He's the only hero who wasn't just born with or handed his powers. He had to work for it and it developed over time. Even though the story lines were long at time the action was amazing. After him id have to say I really like Neo from the first Matrix movie. Great philosphies in that movie
Don't get me started on DBZ, that was some good stuff right there. If someone needs encouragement to hit the gym and train hard, put in a DBZ training episode or two. Though I must say I was disappointed in the live-action movie, I couldn't even finish it. I don't think the world knows how much epic stuff will be missed because that movie was a flop. And yes, Neo knows how to bust some heads in the Matrix!
Its so annoying when they miss like that. Why did Goku have to be a white kid its like nothing can't be hot without a white kid in it? The world tournament was lame. I seriously could have written a better script. The acting was horrible but I guess it doesn't have to be that great in a superhero movie but at least in Spiderman the characters were some what believable.
It's okay, we got Don Cheadle playing War Machine in Iron Man 2, hearing rumors he may also be in the Avenger movies when those come out. Idirs hopefully in Thor, UFC fighter in A-Team...the mold is slowly breaking, it won't be long now.
They casted Thor as a young 20 something yearold when he's suppose to be a late 20s or ear,y 30 something.
Ah! Im with you, I didnt get what you were trying to say. I know Thor certainly dont look 20 something in the comic smh
Well, I hear they are 3/4 of the way done with the movie. The guy playing Thor said in an interview that he is dressed in a wig and that he has been growing in a beard that is apart of his look. So, maybe with some makeup added he'll have that older, seasoned look that Thor has. By the way, rumor has it that Chris Evans (Human Torch in Fantastic Four movie) has been selected to play Captain America in his own movie and Avengers. Personally, I believe far as look is concerned, he's a little too young and quick witted to be Captain America, but popular opinion says he is a better pick than other guys Marvel had in mind. Though, I'm a fan of casting no-name actors in big roles - anyway, guess we'll see how it all plays out.
It annoys me as a fan that they won't cast these damn movies right. Like Halle Berry as Storm? Angela Basset would have been a far better choice.
Nah Angie was too old even when X-Men was made, plus she's too built, more of an action chick (see Strange Days). Thandie Newton on the other hand looks like John Byrne drew her and would have been my choice.
I think far as the X-Men movies were concerned the first one was good, second one the best and the third movie should have been called 'X-Men: End of Days' because they were killing off everyone and their mother in that movie. Hopefully they'll do another one and get better casting for some characters and be a little more consistent with the comic vs movie-verse ratio. While I like Halle Berry, I think they could have cast someone else for Storm and gave her more of a presence on screen, because Halle's storm seemed to have people admire her look rather than her abilities, outside of a couple stunts they added in fight scenes.
This is who they were talking about to play Cap: Chris Evans is a godsend in comparison. Evans as the Torch was the best thing about the FF movies. Here is my dream choice for Cap and don't give me that "he's too old" shit: And here's my choice for Steve Rogers before the serum! In my movie DJ Qualls becomes Paul Walker.
