I re-watched Tommy Boy for the umpteenth time and noticed a Black man and a White woman dancing together in the background during the wedding scene.

 

No, not Sam Jackson, though she does try to sleep with him but he resists. She also rapes a Black teenager but is interrupted by Jackson.

 

Good grief! I had a sense from the title that it was going to be heavy on the tropes, but that's intense. Was there any purpose behind those plot lines, or was it just for shock value?

 

Impossible to tell (for me, at least).

 

Watching Scream VI right now on Paramount+. Chad Meeks-Martin (Mason Gooding) and Tara Carpenter (Jenna Ortega) have some romantic tension. Plus, Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox) was in a relationship with a guy named Brooks (Thomas Cadrot).

 

I don't think he stopped her from that boy. I saw that flick. Jackson's character saw the aftermath.

While randomly browsing Tubi, I just got put onto this 2007 theatrical film "Feel the Noise" starring Omarion & it looks like Zulay Henao plays his love interest:







This movie came out the same year I graduated High School & I was definitely the target audeince for these 2000's Black Urban Teen/Young Adult/Coming-of-Age films. But I don't remember this film AT ALL. So I already know this film flopped without looking up the box office numbers.

Congratulations to SINNERS on 4 Academy Awards. It's the first film with a Black Male Lead that has a white female love interest to win in these major categories.
