I watched it today before football got started. It's exactly what you expect from a flick like this. You know all the familiar beats. You know all the "surprises." You know all the jokes. All that said, I'm glad I watched it. It's cool to see a wwbm couple get the "normal" treatment. They're a really solid couple too! I hope everybody here will watch it too. If this doesn't get numbers, we all know there are people who will say, "See! Nobody wants to watch that woke garbage forcing interracial couples down our throats!" Lol joking aside, they won't make more movies with wwbm couples if the ones they release go unwatched. If this movie looks dumb to you, just throw it on in the background while you do something else. And I think Cameron Diaz still looks great! How young is she supposed to look considering she's playing a middle aged mother of two? The crazy part is she was supposed to be in Hitch opposite Will Smith back in the day. But tptb didn't want to risk their big romcom on a wwbm couple. So they cast Eva Mendes instead.
100% with the arguable exception of the mid - 1990's Cameron Diaz. She did not age very well if you compare her to Eva Longoria (From "Young and the Restless" in 2000 all the way through "Desperate Housewives" from 2004 - 2008 or the People's Champion ~ Roselyn Sanchez in her forties as she headlined "Devious Housemaids" from 2013 - 2016 doing some of finest BM/LW interracial content these eyes ever did see!!! Oh the memories of Roselyn as "Carmen Luna" in those fuchsia pink bra & panties sets effortlessly concealed under a conservative cream colored bath robe. Cameron Diaz could never lol
Yeah, I'm surprised to see folks bashing Cameron Diaz's looks in this thread. Both Jamie & Cameron are in their 50's. So this movie has them playing age-appropriate roles & Cameron still looks MILFy to me. I don't understand the hate & what y'all were expecting. I never knew about Cameron being considered for Eva Mende's character in "Hitch". Back than whenever they wanted to put a black male lead/co-lead in a IR 'ship, they always went with a Latina. So I always assumed they only considered Latinas for that role.
The irony is that Eva Mendes is Spanish like from Spain. Diaz is Cuban so technically Diaz is less white than Eva but because she looks more white they knew audiences weren't gonna accept that.
Cameron Diaz has been overrated as far as looking lush since the turn of the century to me. She last looked GREAT in "There's something about Mary" (1998). Honestly she has not aged anywhere near as well as some other less acclaimed Latinas in Hollywood. From 1994 - 1998 that is Diaz's prime but Eva Longoria had a great run of 17 damn years. YouTube Eva from "The Young and the Restless" which was when I first saw her and she managed to maintain her beautiful appearance for an extended period. Cameron Diaz is a Cuban Latina but her ancestors are more Spaniard than those of Eva Mendes who has indigenous ancestry of the Quechua.
Who cares? Jamie Foxx isn't exactly the male ideal himself lol. No disrespect to anyone's opinion, but it's crazy that this is the main discussion we've landed on from that movie: whether Cameron Diaz is hot enough LOL
Why does Jamie fox have to be the male ideal? White guys in Hollywood get top actresses, regardless of their own attractiveness or age. The discussion is about Diaz because the movie is boring and there's no point watching if you arent at least getting some eye candy
He doesn't. That's exactly my point. It's nice for a wwbm couple to get the same treatment as any all white couple in a paint-by-numbers movie like this Lol! I can't say I fully agree with you, but I respect that you know your opinion and ain't scared to tell it lol
I'm curious, for all of you who think Cameron Diaz isn't attractive enough for this movie, who would you rather see in her role here? Keep in mind that the female lead is supposed to be the biological mother of 2 children, ages 14 and 12.
Well going by what people are looking for in a role for a Mother of 2 teenagers... Sydney Sweeney. LOL!!!
Eva Mendes is 100% Cuban; Cameron Diaz is 50% Cuban (father) and 50% white. I'll give it a watch, or at least stream it while casually viewing it and reading the newspaper over a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (my go-to afternoon snack). I think Cameron Diaz is attractive enough, but I never found her to be explosive or a bombshell.
Say it LOUDER for the people in the back!!! Now Netflix is raising their rates again and justification is purportedly these Netflix original movies with big name stars and that farce of a boxing match with Jake Paul that did numbers. When they schedule a real 10 rounder with eight ounce gloves between Jake Paul and Deontay Wilder just let a brotha know.
She will turn 52 this Spring so such middle school kids are no issue for her as plausible biological offspring but more pertinent . . . have you SEEN Rosenlyn Sanchez?!?!?
That part. I'm not a vain guy so I don't let the media and the entertainment industry shape my vision of what a attractive female to ME is. We all have our own attractions.
Are y'all forgetting the backstory of this film? Jamie Foxx got Cameron Diaz out of retirement to specifically co-star along side him: So this what Jamie specifically wanted.
He just trying to live out his long lusted desires for Cameron Diaz and slap into her bony, skeletal physique lol Sidenote: Netflix original "American Primeval" is excellent so far three episodes into it!! Highly recommended for fans of the Western genre and those of us familiar with the Mountain Meadows Massacre aka the ORIGINAL 9/11 American tragedy.
This Time Next Year Premise: Minnie (Sophie Cookson) and Quinn (Lucien Laviscount) were born on the same day in the same hospital, just one minute apart. Their lives may begin together, but their paths from there couldn’t drift further apart. Years later, fate brings Minnie and Quinn together again. Will they embrace the new beginning and take a chance on love?
In. Any film or TV show that has Lucien Laviscount in it is almost guaranteed to have some type of IR 'ship. LOL!
