No it wouldn't. It would be no different than when they do Justice League stories that don't feature Batman.

Considering that both Batman & Superman have had the most TV/Movie exposure compared to all other DC characters, I wouldn't mind them taking a backseat for awhile to allow the other characters to be spotlighted and built up on screen. Superman especially needs to take a backseat film wise unless they plan on expanding his onscreen villains bench beyond Luthor & Zod.

A TV series might have the luxury of allowing their popular lead characters to periodically take a backseat to second-tier characters, but a struggling franchise like the DC cinematic universe can't afford to do that. They need their big guns front and center. In fact, there are quite a few critics that suggest part of what contributed to Justice Leagues disappointing box office was the lack of Superman in the films marketing campaign. It only takes one flop to jeopardize a franchise.

DC/Warner Brothers movie game plan is clearly non existent. They've basically had three flops so far (Suicide Squad, Batman v Superman & Justice League). They came out of the gate wrong with Man of Steel and rather than do a Man of Steel 2 in order to establish the hopeful version of Superman they needed to make their universe work, they went with Batman v Superman instead. If you can't get the Trinity of Superman, Batman & Wonder Woman right to be the core of your universe, then why bother at all.

The reason I bring up the age thing is because the DC Cinematic Universe is basically still in its infancy and since they are clearly going after the Marvel model they have quite a few years ahead of them. By having a beaten up and slowed down Batman at the beginning of the franchise they have severely limited how they can use him in stories going forward.

Batman is arguably the most popular superhero of all time, a huge part of his popularity is that he is the physical embodiment of human badassery. If he is going to be regulated to the thinker who sits back while other heroes do the bulk of the fighting, the product that is Justice League will suffer.

The Nolan "Batman" was for all intents and purposes James Bond in a rubber suit. Utilitarian fighting ability, rudimentary detective skills and repeatedly let his preoccupation with the women around him almost cost him everything.
Nolan's Bruce Wayne was young. And being wealthy was also an advantage because it will get closer to the things that matter to him and his mission. Women were and will always be a distraction for him.

Batman is often called the world's greatest detective because of his analytical mind. He is a survivor and a warrior.

The New Age of DC Heroes

Starting in January, DC introduces a new line of comics.

Xmen gets such a bad rap when 3 out of the 5 movies they did were good. Especially first class. Most people agree that at least 2 of them were good. I'm going in with an open mind because nothing they do can be worse than justice league.

I'm not counting the wolverine movies, they were much different.

Wait.....oh shit.... I didn't even see apocalypse! I'm getting that mixed up with the last stand ( which wasn't good)
Which was worse last stand or apocalypse?

I'm not optimistic.

With all due respect to her work on Game Of Thrones, Sophie Turner is not a strong enough of an actress to carry a movie like this, especially when she is doing a movie in a foreign accent.

Agree 100%.

For some reason I have a feeling they aren't going to get the full scope of the Dark Phoenix saga pitch perfect.
I was literally depressed as a kid when I read where Jean Grey died, despite the fact she was destroying solar systems.

She might have been the most powerful superhero ever rendered by Marvel comics.
This can't be a run of the mill X-Men movie.

There is something about robots with emotions that freaks me out. Just to think of the cruelty it would take to make a machine that can feel fear or sadness is very unsettling.
