The problem with both President Obama and President Trump is the slavishly dedicated electorate that look past their glaring contradictions and shortcomings. Americans ought to champion policies/positions and not politicians.
There's no way you're seriously drawing some equivalence between Trump and Obama. What pray tell, were Obama's 'glaring shortcomings and contradictions'??? Trump is his own political animal and nothing like Obama. Or any POTUS we've seen IMO in the last 150 years.
Please carefully re-read my post. The two presidents share a segment of the electorate - the people whom trumpet every political "victory" of their chosen idol and ignore their glaring and obvious shortcomings. To be clear, their "shortcomings" can be of differing degrees and magnitude, but the willingness of their respective voting blocks to defend them with little to no objectivity IS THE SAME. That is what they have in common. President Obama, in stark contrast to his oratory skills, had a terrible, maybe the worst, "messaging" of any Administration in the modern era. What he was doing and why he was doing it (or not doing it) was an intellectual muddle. His second term was a merry-go-round of remarks, backtracks, and no action. He did a poor job of articulating a clear policy on Russia(Putin)/Syrian government, which ironically lead to their union and his isolation. President Obama had a fantastic manner and "looked good" in the office - he will probably end up a Reagan-esque character in the Democratic party, but let's face, he aided the financial recovery, killed bin Laden, got the Affordable Healthcare law passed and.... and... sang Amazing Grace...
I was and remain a great admirer of the job that President Obama did for 8 years, in the face of historic challenges to the economy, and with an openly obstructionist congress. You may want to review some more of his accomplishments per below. Some of the major ones you left out was cutting the deficit over 70%, over 60 months of economic expansion, unemployment rate was cut from over 10% to below 5%, marriage equality, increased access to capital for minority small businesses, and A LOT more per below. Trumpeting his accomplishments does not mean that one must turn a blind eye to where he fell short on some of his promises, http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/obameter/rulings/promise-broken/. All in all, imo, if a person is being fair in their review of his performance, he should be rated among the BEST presidents we ever had, there is a reason he had a high approval rating upon exiting. http://addictinginfo.org/2013/02/15/a-long-list-of-president-obamas-accomplishments-with-citations/
I feel you might be misreading my post and my argument. I did not level a judgment for or against President Obama's legacy. My first argument was the following: Obama/Trump have supporters who refuse to critique their candidate objectively and - to further that position - this tendency is manipulated by both parties. Also, listing some of President Obama's shortcomings was an answer to a specific question - not a slapdash, random attack on Mr. Obama's legacy. We have to stop loving/hating politicians and get into the minutia of what is good/bad policy. If you voted for Obama/Trump, that fact does not mean you have to advocate or defend all of their political choices.
No, you're wrong about me. Yes, his actions/words/tweets absolutely matter to me as it speaks volumes of his character. What 70 year old person goes around acting like a spoiled 12 year old? The interesting person who is Kellyanne Conway advised that we shouldn't listen to his words, but look at what's in his heart. Really? What kinda bullshit is that other than another way of saying... Let's give him yet another pass. That would be another of her alternatives. What I've said time and time again about Trump is that I find him to be racist, and simply hateful to just about anyone who isn't a supporter of his and/or a white (hetero) male Therefore, I'm not optimistic that he'll lead in a way that is in the best interests for everyone, particularly people of color (and immigrants).. He's clearly lied about much, still hiding information, and I simply don't trust him. He, himself has caused me to feel this way. So, if someone comes along... seems to be quite the terrible person in so many ways... Why on earth should I be optimistic about his reign? No one made this up. All of this came directly from the horse's mouth. Now if that means that I don't want to give him a chance... then, yes, sign me up. That said, I'm all for America, but Trump??? I'll give him as much support/respect as he (and the like) gave President Obama.
I do think you were leveling a judgement when you said he did not do much else besides sing Amazing Grace, which is why I responded the way I did with additional facts. That being said we are in agreement that policy/actions should be paramount when it comes to scrutinizing how well an administration is doing, and being able to be objective in the accomplishments and failures of said administration is a rarity for most people.

Were you one of those people who said HRC is a warmonger?? Don't worry, I'm sure the new POTUS instead of installing more sanctions against Iran is going to invade them instead. NO one in the Trump WH or State Department believes in diplomacy anyway. Besides Trump has all these nukes he wants to use, otherwise why have so many???
We've got a POTUS who loses his shit over a negative twitter post. I can just imagine how he's going to react to this ballistic missile test. ....and in other news.
World war 3 is coming. The stupid have won it's always been a war against stupid and the Republicans have spent all their political capital creating that demographic for years. The damage will be irreversible. Make your peace and live your life without limit because this shit is pretty much over
They should have a contingency plan for the economy if they plan on attacking Iran. Because if Iraq unravels during the conflict....... Not to mention how ugly things could get if North Korea joins the war. Is the CIA even comfortable giving chump intel they may get on Russia?
No one cares they all only see profit. They all believe this won't touch them so who cares if millions even billions die. It all fits into their weird religious beliefs anyway.
