Marvel’s Inhumans TV Series Character Details Potentially Revealed



Season 2 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. brought one giant comic book faction into existence within the Marvel Cinematic Universe: The Inhumans. The human/Kree hybrid race are genetically enhanced individuals who traditionally gain their abilities after going through Terrigenesis. So far, S.H.I.E.L.D. has been responsible for introducing a few notable Inhumans – such as Quake and Yo-Yo – but it will fittingly be The Inhumans that fully brings the race to prominence. The MCU movie-turned TV show (that still has a limited theatrical release) is developing quickly at this stage, ahead of its debut in September.

Most recently, it was revealed that ABC and Marvel are planning to begin production on Inhumans in March, which raises a big question mark about the show’s cast – because there isn’t one yet (officially, anyway). That should be changing rather quickly, with new character breakdowns indicating that many members of the Inhuman Royal Family will be front and center in the series.

That Hashtag Show has revealed these breakdowns thanks to a source close to the Inhumans TV project. In total, there are seven descriptions that have now been revealed, all of which are for characters that will be series regulars. While the descriptions are accompanied with fake names, it is not too difficult to figure out which of the Royal Family members each is. Check out the breakdowns, below.


"Broderick" – Male, 30-40, Caucasian
Can say volumes with just a look. Strong thoughtful and private, he’s unaccustomed to being questioned or feeling a need to answer to anyone, to an extent can verge on arrogance.


"Marjorie" – Female, 30-40, Caucasian
An elegant and intelligent advisor to her husband, she struggles to find her place outside of their relationship, as others tend to view her as just a pretty face. Strong and resourceful, she’s not afraid to break the rules when the situation demands it.

"Marty" – Male, 30-40, Caucasian
Broderick’s younger brother; he is intelligent, charming and articulate. He comes across as a man of the people but secretly covets power.

"Kevin" – Male, 30-40, Open
Slight of build, his mind is his greatest asset. Always prepared with a plan, his outlook on life is the glass is always half-empty and often cracked and dirty as well. Though his outlook can be grim he has a droll, dry sense of humor.

"Grady" – Male, 25-35, Open
Impetuous and brash, he has serious impulse control issues which frequently get him into trouble, whether it’s women, booze or fighting. He loves life and lives in the moment, for better or worse.

"Christine" – Female, 18-25 to play 18, Caucasian
Soulful but still learning the ways of the world, she has the arrogance of youth. Impetuous and independent, she is also deeply devoted to her family.

"Timothy" – Male, 25-35, Open, SFXMU required
Supremely athletic. The ultimate picture of cool. He’s calm under pressure and willing to do anything to get the job done.


Thanks to the on-the-nose descriptions for many of the characters, and the uniqueness that many of the Inhumans have to one another, there are obvious hints to who these descriptions are actually for. Broderick is undoubtedly Black Bolt, the Inhuman king who rarely speaks; Marjorie is then Medusa, Black Bolt’s wife; Marty is Maximus the Mad; Kevin is Karnak; Grady is Gorgon; Christine is Crystal; and Timothy is Triton.

Not only do each of the character descriptions line up with how the characters are portrayed in the comics, but each also has the same first letter to their true comic counterpart. None of this is ultimately too surprising at this point, but it is clear that the Inhumans TV show will be featuring an experienced Royal Family and not casting 20-25 year olds to lead the race.

One character that is noticeably missing from these descriptions is the Inhuman teleporting dog: Lockjaw. He is a fan-favorite for comic readers but could be a tricky character to bring to live-action on TV. His exclusion from this breakdown does not eliminate his potential to appear on the TV series, as his would be even more obvious and likely only will require a voice-over from an actor. Now that the descriptions are out there, Marvel should begin filling them out rather quickly.

The Inhumans will be shown in theaters for two weeks starting Labor Day weekend, prior to the first episode premiering September 26, 2017 on ABC.

This must be from later on in the series. I wonder if Toonami is going to broadcast the dubbed versions of those later episodes?

 

Justice league dark dropped. I still can't get over this new batman's voice. Some of the things I didn't understand.
Superman was about to attack batman but they cut away. The human in swamp thing was removed but that was not solved if he went back. The fight scenes were ok....I have never got the Constantine character too much not a fan to be honest.

Is the DC cinematic universe falling apart? BvS sucked, Suicide Squad was mediocre, The Flash movie has lost two directors and they have gone back to rewrite the entire screenplay. And now the word is that Ben Affleck has dropped out of directing The Batman. In my opinion, if Wonder Woman fails they should just scrap the whole thing, wait 3-4 years and reboot with a point person (like Marvel's Kevin Feige) overseeing the entire vision.

Berlanti's BLACK LIGHTNING Moving From Fox to THE CW







Deadline is reporting that Greg Berlanti’s Black Lightning, based on the DC Comic book character that was originally in development at Fox, is moving with the likely destination being the CW, the home of the ‘Berlanti-verse’ DC shows Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl.

The online trade said negotiations are still underway but that a pilot order at the CW is likely.

Fox reportedly decided to pass on the show due to its already crowded comic book/genre line-up that includes Gotham and Lucifer and will be joined in the fall by the Matt Nix untitled X-Men series in development.

While the focus of the series is on titular character Jefferson Pierce, his daughters are also main characters – an area the younger-skewing CW would likely emphasize. In the comic books, his daughters are the superheroes Thunder (Anissa) and Lightning (Jennifer).

The official description of the series reads: “He made his choice: He hung up the suit and his secret identity years ago, but with a daughter hell-bent on justice and a star student being recruited by a local gang, he’ll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC Legend, Black Lightning.”

The husband-and-wife duo Salim and Mara Brock Akil are writing and executive producing.

 

Black character? Well of course there has to be gang temptation in there. Couldn't just have the kids trying to do superhero stuff because they think it's cool but they don't fully comprehend the danger or responsibility. So pops suites up to teach save his girls and teach them the ropes. Nope. Never that. It has to, in someway, be tied to gangs or "the hood" otherwise it's not authentically black.
