Isn't it amazing how Mother Nature can make 75 million of us change our lives around for her on a dime. We ain't shit when it comes to her power over us
DC projects 32 inches??! ^^^^^^^ Just got a call...no meat, eggs, milk or bread at the Shoprite..barely any parking spots to shop...this is ridiculous. It's one day of snow! DC l can understand because you may be in your house for a few days buried in the snow, but Philly? come on...
Yeah I was listening to the news coverage saying that the storm is moving faster than projected so it should arrive sooner than later, and this whopper of a storm is like three of the last several snowstorms we've had over the years wrapped up into one. I'm really not sure what to expect but the snow has not started falling here in Va yet...
You're right. That's an excellent idea. I've lived here since '97, and it's still humorous to me how folks in the DC area will leave the store shelves bare when snow is in the forecasts. I can understand loading up on things like snacks, water and such. However, I don't get the toilet paper thing. Assuming most people keep a decent amount of toilet paper on hand... Just how long do they expect the storm to last? We're leaving work at 12 noon, and folks are really anxious. I'm just looking to not get caught up in the mad traffic dash to get out of dodge.
You're a good one! It was not even a consideration for me. Hell no. I pass. Be safe getting home! I hear it has started snowing down by my mothers house which is about 40 mins from me.
It has begun! Getting snow here now. Traffic starting to back up on my main street. I'm in for the next few days. I have my bass and electricity. I'm good. Oh, and food too lol
LOL, as I always say, I have to enjoy now because six months from now I will be bitterly complaining about the relentless heat and high AC bills that come with life in the desert.
To all the forum members in the Mid-Atlantic, New England and eastern Upper Midwest states, stay warm and be safe!
just flew home to 50 degrees in Denver...you all know the drill and went through this last year...being prepared is key...charge your phones for as long as you can...keep in mind you can always take your phone out to your car and charge it there as well...where's the flashlight? batteries? candles? hand and feet warmers...prep for layers...did you pick up charcoal for the grill? part of me hates when the power goes out and the other side is that adventure kicks in...camping indoors... be safe!
Thanks Ore! ^^^ KinCa, too! We all appreciate it You too, Lippy!!! ^^^^^ I was just going to rib you that come summer time, we shall return the sentiment.
Spent day 1 of snowmageddon watching cartoons and movies w this little cutie <3 she's ready to play outside! Hopefully we'll make it outdoors soon ok... So I just read a report that the worse of the storm is expected to sweep through between 1am through 3pm with high winds, zero visibility, and expected power outages. Y'all charge your phones and computers and stay bundled up!
