More Soldiers Cut for Being Overweight

    My Take

Perhaps in light of trimming down the military in order to help contribute to cutting down the deficit, and the fact that wartime is slowly dwindling, the need to cut back on soldiers for this reason is justified. I know there are people who have made careers out of being in the military, but in order to do that, you must maintain yourself at being the best of the best of best and that also means not letting yourself go in light of everything.

Is it discrimination? Perhaps. But we have to ask ourselves: Can we really waste more resources when these people are quite capable of finding jobs in the civilian sector? They have some advantages over those who hadn't served in the military...the route just may take a little more time than average.

Not sure how many military posts you have been on, but I have seen far more out of shape female soldiers than out of shape male soldiers. Then again, the physical standards are lower for women. But, from my experience, a vast majority of the "fat bodies" weren't the male soldiers (don't get me wrong, there are some, but, so long as they past tape tests, as well as past PT tests they aren't technically "fat bodies).
