Ok. Now I'm getting more of the picture. Personally I'm not really up front about anything because like I was saying before, it doesn't much matter to me.

If she becomes a best friend I will accommodate.

I think the difference is in our approach and perhaps what we are looking for.

I just let things play out without leading them on.

 

A lot of guys are not looking for a woman to have a family.
More company than anything else.
But not even cohabitation ??

I don't do cohabitation either. I'm old school lol. If we're living together it's because we're married.

 

Almost every guy I did date, wanted us to cohabit.
To me it is normal.

When things are good you start spending more time together then bam. Sometimes it just happens. One of you will have changing clothes at the others house ect... Days turn into weeks......

How can you know if you really get on well together, unless you cohabit at some point.

 

I understand cohabitation if both parties are broke and want to offset costs. But, I don't date those kinds of women.

I understand. I'm not broke, so I don't run into this issue. I have known some guys who date broke women and they cohabit on the grounds of him helping her out. I've never seen it work out for the best. It's not my cup of tea. I have no interest in running a shelter. I've also known a few women (2 out of 3 were nurses) who took in guys who were down on their luck. It didn't work out for them, either.

 

Sharing is a way of being able to pay the rent. It is not always only man and woman. I have shared with 2 other women.
But cohabiting with a guy is usually ones bf.

 

I’m aware. I don’t do cohabitation or roommates. But, to each their own.

 

I always date women that have their own place lol. That's something I don't really think about. However money is not a factor for me when it comes to an SO.

Good point agreed. I think if two people agree to either live together or get married, they should keep their individual homes first to see if they really get along. Even if one or both are renters, keep paying rent on your apartment until you're sure you both are compatible.

 

Because accommodation is so expensive, many people share.
Particularily students.
But this is not unique to France

 

This is an interesting conversation! I know plenty of people who are living together for reasons other than financial. I know some who have done the financial thing.

People have all sorts of different motivating factors....some actually enjoy BEING together. (shocking I know!)
