That's an interesting switch although not an unusual one. What is clear, anyway, is how keenly you feel people should be involved in the sociopolitical world, whichever direction they choose to swing in. Which is the same as me really: the true enemy of religion is not caring, and the same can be said for politics, in a way; I hate the apathetic and only disagree with the conservative. Still, don't you think that it is possible to unite radical left views on some topics (especially the environment and civil liberties) with more right wing stances on economics, etc? That is a very common mindset in the UK today, known as left-wing political right wing economic, although it isn't the one I subscribe to...will live and die to protect our welfare state first!

good points, I think the death of society is based on the lack of human to human compassion, the blatant disregard for life, and the belittling of morals.

i think that there are many ways in which the Left and Right can come to common ground. Issues of environment and poverty are human issues not political ones. Issues of state soveriegnty, curbing globalization, and pollution are issues we can relate to and do in the US. I am not a far right winger on economic issues, more of a Moderate really. I am a social conservative, Radical but I still think compassion for the poor, the widow, the orphan, the homeless and sick are paramount to my social conservative agenda and need to be addressed in the most compassion and fair minded way.

    Ons:

A man who dresses really nicely. A man who smells real good. A man who knows how to be a gentleman, and treats ladies like ladies. A man who likes interesting conversation. A man who has read at least some of the classics. A man who will french-kiss with me after oral, no matter which of us went down on the other.

    Offs:

Sagging pants/shorts, gold teeth, show-offs, ghetto attitudes, profanity, unnecessary violence, liars, dead-beat dads.

Im just like you, Tucker. Although around my family and friends, i always seem the odd one out because everyone in my family is a democrat. Most or all my friends are democrats too; hell even my baby Eva is a damn Democrat  Im the only Republican in my clique although i love getting into debates with them about how the Democrats are a bunch of emotional crybabies. And all they say is, "GOP is the rich, capitalist, white man's aprty". That might be slightly true in economic terms but not in social terms.

Cris, I hear ya man. My mother's side of the family are working class and Democrats, my Father's side is wealthier and Republicans--all males on my Father side were Republicans all the way back to Reconstruction---because we were business owners, landowners and professionals.

Because the women in my family are the Democrats and I am the only male, I dont have political debates much--more religious ones. I am from a traditional family where all are educated and have great professions but the men are still the head of the family.

my in laws are all Conservative Republicans so i get along with them great

Whichever way you swing in politics, the only real important thing (to ME) is your character, rather than your political party. Most people in America don't see it that way when voting for a commander-in-chief every 4 years.
